Tonight’s embarrassing turnout at the America 250 Rodeo hosted by Georgia Republicans in Perry, GA is a direct reflection of what Governor Brian Kemp, GAGOP Chair Josh McKoon, and the establishment wing of the Republican Party have done to destroy the GAGOP.

After years of campaigning as conservatives and governing as establishment insiders, they’ve managed to accomplish something remarkable: they’ve made their own voters stop showing up.

This isn’t because Georgians suddenly lost interest in politics. It’s because they’re tired of being ignored, tired of broken promises, and tired of being told to fall in line while the same people keep cashing checks and protecting the status quo.

The empty seats tonight weren’t an accident. They were a referendum.

If this continues, don’t expect conservatives to turn out in the midterms. This has nothing to do with President Trump. The vile comment about Michelle Obama is part of a nearly 20-year project to deny and defile the Obamas because their very existence confronted and did damage to the centuries-old lie of white supremacy and white control.

Part of that project hardened into a cruel conspiracy: Barack was gay and Michelle was trans. It was an attempt to emasculate him and defeminize her, while creating a scandal and branding them as secret-keepers and liars.

As long as the Obamas exist as qualified, competent, unmarred people, an example of excellence, they remain dangerous.
