People are being obtuse. No one should be hugging anyone against their will. It’s not ‘woke’ and people who don’t understand this are opening their children up to potential sexual abuse from relatives and family friends because you’ve taught them feeling uncomfortable is ‘normal’

My mum was always like that when I was little. She wouldn't let anyone hug me if I didn't want it.

Sometimes I did, sometimes I didn't and she made sure it was respected and if a relative hugged me regardless, she would call them out.

I will always be grateful to her for that
