@airindia Thank you for arranging a call. An *hour* ago the agent placed me on hold for "1-2 minutes". Is something actually happening or am I on hold for nobody?
@airindia You have just rescheduled a booked flight for a second time. This time I have a negative 2 hour layover , clearly this is impossible. Your website is saying I need to call the helpline, but it hangs up on me before I get to a person. Help!!
@omaclaren@chrisalbon I can convince myself of this intuitively, but do you know of anything formal out there? Even specific examples where "model complexity" is actually well-defined....
@omaclaren Is this just the difference in the Fisher vs Neyman-Pearson interpretation of confidence intervals? The Fisherian view would include any knowledge about the machine in your "data" (hence it depends), whereas Neyman-Pearson is purely long-run frequentist (hence 0.95).
'A blanket border re-opening before we reach population immunity, even if we only reopen to vaccinated people, would pose a high risk of an outbreak' great work by @PunahaMatatini team @nicsteynnz@MichaelPlankNZ @hendysh https://t.co/NbroJFqRxX via @ConversationEDU
@emilynz@Thoughtfulnz Never quite got stuck into NZTA data unfortunately, although from memory they have a new website with a whole bunch of data? Would make it fairly easy to get started
@marcdaalder@1NewsNZ It sort of captures how infectious something is (mortality rates are usually expressed over some time period), so can be useful. Just not so much for risk *conditional* on catching the virus.
Thornley says we should follow Iceland's strategy for restrictions. But since May 14, a majority of New Zealanders have been living freer lives than people in Iceland, including through the present outbreak where two thirds of us have remained at L2. (14/16)
