Christleton 5km on Friday night - sooo many regrets! π€¦ββοΈπ Went off farrr too fast (10:20 at 3km - faster than my last 3km track race π€―) so died an awful death in the last mile - never known lactic like it and can't believe I made it to the finish π«£ Managed a slight 17:42...
Track opener in Trafford last night - far from my best with a 10:24 3,000m but I loved the race & felt like I finally had two strong legs again after two months affected by injury ππͺ A nice line drawn in the sand and very hopeful of much faster as the summer goes on...! ππββοΈ
Allyson Felix, who is the most decorated female track and field athlete in Olympic history, has announced she is coming out of retirement ahead of LA 2028.
The 40-year-old told @TIME that the decision is based on a βonce-in-a-lifetime homecomingβ, with the next Games taking place in Los Angeles.
It's been called "Project Six", given this would be Felix's sixth Olympics after Athens, Beijing, London, Rio and Tokyo.
She has medalled at every single Games, and is anticipating on returning to competition in 2027.
Very lovely mummy-daughter afternoon at the theater in Manchester for an early 10th birthday celebration for my little bookworm, Ava πππ€ππ
Another pain-free race on the injury comeback trail ticked off π₯³ Third place (first old lady) in a local 4-miler in Blackpool on Weds and pleased with my time πββοΈ So happy to hear my weaker hamstring's now almost as strong as the good leg - the patience and rehab's paying off π
Rehab's going well but I have to steer clear of speed-work, which means I have no gears yet - but I now have two working legs again and all good things come to those who wait...hopefully π Grateful for the kind support of these speedy friends π
Racing whilst on the comeback trail from injury is never pretty but I'm proud of myself for getting out there when I'm not at my best βΊοΈ *17:46 5km last night. Everything was perfect a month ago then BANG, hamstring tendinopothy - I ran too fast, too soon after winter training πͺ
THEYβRE SO GOLDEN π₯
Team GB & NI really said βall inβ, as they go home with 4 gold medals from the #WorldIndoorChamps and clinch the 2nd spot on the medal table π«
