George Kittle reached 19.84 mph on this play, per Next Gen Stats. That's the same speed as Xavier Worthy's 41-yard TD today. It doesn't make sense for a player fresh off an Achilles injury to hit these kinda speeds so soon.
He's a freak.
How often you hear a drafted LB converted to center?
♦️Falcons legend Jeff Van Note went from 262nd pick LB to 6x Pro Bowl OC
♦️247lbs, his 18 ATL years rank in the 25 longest ever & 2nd with one team
Gone, but never forgotten 💐
Some clarity on the 49ers WR room:
**Mike Evans is fine. He gets soreness and tweaks across a season. Always has, always will. He knows how to manage his body; let him do it.
**Deebo is fit and will continue to be used as the Joker “wideback.” Kyle is deploying him perfectly right now.
**Kirk isn’t far out. Likely targeting him for the Seattle game. He will supplement Evans well. Stand by.
**Cooks will make it harder for teams to defend the 49ers’ offense, which is already stealing souls. The field is going to get stretched, and Shanahan will take full advantage.
**Watkins is in the tool bag, but Hodge is an underrated WR, and Shanahan values his experience and toughness over Watkins’ speed/potential at the moment. Kyle is the best one to make that call. Let it play out.
**Cowing has value as a punt returner, and they aren’t going to use him from scrimmage to do much more than occasionally clear out coverage. Cooks is now the deep speed threat.
**DRob will be back after the bye. His return will be a nice second half help. Don’t forget he’s there.
**Stribling should be around for the last third/quarter of the season, in time for a playoff push. Don’t count him out.
**The 49ers WR situation has morphed from what it was in the offseason, but that’s the NFL. Things change. The fact the team can lose three of its top 5 wideouts and still be highly effective tells us they are managing the injuries perfectly.
The WR room is in flux. But it is still full of talent. Relax and trust what they are doing.
Greg Cosell says Brock Purdy epitomizes quarterback play in the NFL
“I’m so tired of hearing guys have great tools because they can throw it hard and they can run around. I speak to coaches and that would be so far down the list on what coaches look at when they think about quality quarterback play.
Quarterback play, if you reduce it to its simplest level -- Brock Purdy epitomizes this, it’s throwing the ball to the right receiver at the right time with the right kind of throw. That’s what quarterback play ultimately is. The ability to throw it really hard or really far or to just randomly run around is not what quarterback play is.”

This is an MVP throw from Brock Purdy
PA naked boot, pump fakes defender out of throwing lane, resets and lays a dime into the next throwing window to Mike Evans
Haters will say Kyle Shanahan did it
Raheem Morris on Brock Purdy:
“Having the chance to be here and play against The Layer King, coach don’t like me calling him The Layer King, he’s The Appropriate Throw King, but to watch him every day in practice and watch the things he’s able to do, it’s unbelievable. To watch his process, to watch how gritty and tough he is, to watch the competitor that he is every single day in practice, I’ve been around Brock and I really enjoyed my time around him.”
Morris goes on to talk about how important Deebo Samuel is to the team, as well as the organization making the right decision to go to Australia as early as they did

Trent Williams says he learned more about football in one 30-minute Kyle Shanahan team meeting than his previous 10 NFL seasons combined
“The fact that he made us competitive, the fact that we believed that we could go win a Super Bowl, we literally believed. And it’s not because of what we had in the locker room. It was because of what we had in the coach.”
“He understands his team. When to give days off and when to push us through the times where we want days off. He’s got a keen understanding for how to treat a locker room, not sweating the small stuff, but making sure everybody is accountable and making sure we all play with that same intensity.”
“If you don’t, you’re going to get called out. He ain’t going to MF you in front of everybody. He’s going to do it in his own way, but it makes you feel like, ‘Damn, I’m letting him down. I need to be accountable.’”
“Not so much, ‘I’m going to do it so he don’t yell.’ It’s like, ‘Damn, I’m going to do it because I don’t want to let him down. I know he put his everything into this. I know he trusts me with this. I want to pay him back by being productive and executing his game plan.’”
“I came here a 10-year vet. I learned more just in that 30-minute team meeting we had with Kyle breaking down the next opponent, I learned more football in that time than I did the previous 10 years.”
“The way he breaks it down is literally like something you’ve never seen. Down to the quarterback, where his weight is. Just the way he diagnoses football.”
Incredible breakdown on Fred Warner’s big game against the Rams 🔥
When all said and done he’ll go from being called All-Pro Fred to Hall of Fame Fred

I mean…no…2022 49ers started out 3-4 and then won 12 straight to NFCCG. 2021 started out 3-5 and made NFCCG. Went 3-3 in the middle of 2025. And you clipped this take for social media? Did anyone research it?
