We don't know if you've noticed, but the shape on top of "Spirithief" Bartholos's head isn't actually circular. It is the shape of a droplet as befitting the study of aerodynamics.
The shape of the "Spirithief"'s head is more aerodynamically suitable and better for fast movements compared to Cipher's skull, hence, Spirithief gains one win, and Cipher remains at zero.
