The DMK introduced the desalination project in 2006; M.K. Stalin, who was the Minister for Municipal Administration at that time, made all the arrangements for this project.

With him becoming the Chief Minister in 2021, the foundation stone for the second unit was laid, and its work is now nearing completion.

The TVK government has removed the stone plaque of the second unit project just because Chief Minister Vijay is coming to inspect it.

Is it not shameful, incompetent Vijay government, to remove the stone plaque to put your own stickers on a DMK government project that is nearing completion?"
