@vincristine The period that was selected conveniently happened to be when most funds were returning back up after paper losses during covid so would never have been taxed anyway. Small detail left out of their argument. Flawed reason to base a policy.
@teamreal321 "He already wrecked a motorcycle" no. if you actually did research you'd know that a guy in a Cadillac pulled out in front of him and caused the crash then the guy tried to blame him for ruining his "caddie". One fact wrong, the rest probably are too.
@dodona777 Is that the only conclusion?. Things like flagpoles are much cheaper (relatively) and more readily available than 30 years ago. More exposure to yanks doing it via the internet. It's never 1 thing.
@LeagueScenePod When NZ first put a team into what is now the A-league the Sydney King's (basketball) objected to Auckland Kings. So name was changed. Different codes. There is precedent.
@PedagogyMaxima@NZallens@OpinionistNZ@NZGreens They chose a period when funds were recovering post-covid. Those "untaxed gains" or income they'd have you believe were recoveries and could never be taxable under CGT.
@GWinstanley77@RNLI Serious question. Wad that boat actually in trouble and need of rescue or did they just call to be rescued so they could land? Haven't seen any reports that the boat was in trouble. Thank you
@blurtnz@nickofnz They're proposing taking over existing stores. Suburban New Worlds and of course 4Squares would be cheaper but 10m is still light for a NW.
