Wireless power generators for the MAC cannons? Committing like 50+ spartans to die on the ground because the UNSC was too stupid to fortify the power generators from ground invasion? Sending the spartans to the ground in a pelicans that gets shot down instead of ODST drop pods (not a thing in the canon yet probably, weird since Starship Troopers was written in the 1959, the book that invented both powered armor and orbital drops).

Why didn’t they just commence operation red flag and try to capture a covenant ship during the space battle? The book First Strike makes it look super easy.
