Wishing conductor @Paul_McCreesh a Happy Birthday!
The work he does with Gabrieli Roar for youngsters is utterly inspirational and can only be admired
My Barenreiter work leads to professional working relationships built up over decades. Thanks for your friendship Paul!
Folk musician Gaelynn Lea plays the violin beautifully but differently
She uses it like a cello, upright

Thrilled to hear that @CliveMyrieBBC@Alleycatstv won a BAFTA for their Caribbean Adventure. Huge congratulations to all, so richly deserved.
(BTW Clive, I met Paul Brennan recently, former conductor of BYO, who sends his best.)
@boltontory Dear Mr Mayor
As your mayoral year draws to a close, I want to say a huge thank you to you for your impeccable service as Bolton's first citizen, but especially that you have made it so accessible through your daily diary on here.
It's been very much appreciated.
Best wishes
Amazing to meet Paul Brennan, conductor of Bolton Youth Orchestra 1971-1979, for the first time in 45 years. He was an inspiration for me (and many others) as a young player. We remembered the rehearsals and concerts in Bolton and in Paderborn. Fab!

📢We're thrilled to announce that our Dream of Gerontius recording has won a BBC Music Magazine Award
As always, these awards are selected by public vote. So from all of us at Gabrieli, we'd like to extend a massive THANK YOU to everyone who lent their support to our recording!
An important anniversary. Many friendships have been formed between Bolton and Paderborn citizens esp. Paderborn Musikschule & Bolton Music Service. I made my 1st visit in 1977 & have been a good friend of Jürgen Boelsen since. Together we formed International Youth Philharmonic
Day 333 (Part 4 - Saturday): This evening we had the absolute privilege of hosting a civic dinner at the town hall to mark the 50th anniversary of our official twinning with Paderborn.
Speeches were made by both myself, the mayor of Paderborn and a presentation was given highlighting Bolton regeneration aspirations.
It was a celebration of not only of our enduring friendship but of the values that bind us across countries, unity, shared history, and hope for the future.
The bond between our towns is reflected not just in official visits, but in the friendships, exchanges, and understanding that have flourished through the years.
The toasts we shared last night weren’t just ceremonial, they were a symbol of mutual respect and trust in each other’s cultures.
A heartfelt thank you to the delegation from Paderborn and a special thanks as well to our friends from Le Mans in France and Przemyśl in Poland whose participation brought an extra layer of richness and warmth to the evening.
Here’s to continued friendship, shared futures, and many more memories to come.

Classic PR tactic employed by autocrats in their early days of power.
Joseph Goebbels espoused pretty much the same sentiments in the 1930s.
The world hasn't yet woken up to this emerging terror.
It's not going to end well, for them, or for us.
"Should the Defense Secretary.."
Marjorie Taylor Greene: "Wait what country are you from?"
"From the UK"
"OK we don't give a crap about your opinion and your reporting. Why don't you go back to your country. We have a major migrant problem. You should care about your own borders"
@Paul_McCreesh As Manuel in Fawlty Towers often said "I know nothing".
And even less since I fully retired.
But I'm optimistic that the rhetoric espoused by Starmer et al in the run up to the election will bear fruit. It will take longer than many of us hope, but it will come.
