@Mon4Kooyong I understand the point about remaining Independent, but I also think that if the constitution of a new Teal party legally enforced independence, then the Teal party could both keep what we have and get benefits from a party, not least levelling the funding.
@Mon4Kooyong Hi Monique. Thanks for everything that you do. I live on the Northern Beaches on the border between Zali and Sophie's electorates and campaigned to "Get Tony Out" then in support of Zali and Sophie.
@SophieScamps Not just that - our exports QUADRUPLE Australia's true emissions liability making us a global climate pariah. Only psychopaths could trash their own childrens survivable futures in this way!!
@billmckibben Unfortunately America is now only a 50% great country, the other 40% vote for Trump taking US back to Victorian times and 10% are just confused.
@tanya_plibersek But unlike your approvals of coal mines and gas fracking this will not kill anyone - your coal and gas approvals will kill thousands, perhaps millions of our own children and grandchildren. This is genocidal and psychopathic!!
@PlanB_earth I never thought that in the UK, of all places, where we have speakers corner and the judiciary have traditionally been defenders of the people against tyrannical governments and corporations that this could happen. Here in Australia it's just expected, but no in UK!!!
@Sophiemcneill@WoodsideEnergy Agree, Meg's a psychopath deliberately and knowingly inflicting genocide on future generations. She should be on trial in the Hague for crimes against humanity, but hey this is straylya where the BIG end of town "own" us all and pull all the strings, political, in court, media.
@simonahac@BloombergNEF Other takeaways, we aint gonna be zero by 2050, gas declines but hangs on with CCS pretence, nuclear still in global decline. The so-called gas shortage in Australia is "in the noise" so confected fear-mongering from the gas industry especially as gas exports collapse!!
@simonahac Average transport distance is 34km, requiring 3kW of solar in NSW, with another 3kW to run the home net zero (V2H) and the average home install is now 9kW, leaving 3kW to go on the grid (at peak time if we had V2G). V2G FAR more strategic for 100% renewables than anything else!!
@colinwalker79 And when we can bi-directionally connect our EV's to the home/grid all the gnashing and wailing about renewables intermittency and costs of storage, need for nuclear etc. will just evaporate. Should get bi-directional charging sorted first instead of wasitng money on Snowy etc.
@FranMooMoo@zalisteggall Hmmm, whilst the optics are not great, we need to judge Zali by her actions and deeds - I see no evidence of her holding back on criticism of coal. Coal miners know that their industry HAS to shut for a survivable future and it's how to transition that matters?
@simonahac AND wind and solar will soon get a massive boost as we transition to bi-directionally charged electric vehicles that put soooo much distributed car battery storage on the grid, that intermittency and curtailment will be a distant memory. Incompetently ignorred by AEMO ISP tho!!!
@MarkOgge AND AEMO ISP ignores the inevitable transition to Battery Electric Vehicles (with bi-directional charging). These are game-changing for the amount of grid distributed storage they put on the grid. S-curve modeling uptake of BEV's suggests >35% by 2030, >92% by 2035!
@6NewsAU She's a woman of conscience, so I'm sure she'd be welcome on the cross-benches! Teal have to take out Labor seats now also to hold the balance of power.
@tanya_plibersek Did they tell you to do your job (show a "Duty of Care") and stop approving new coal and gas projects that are trashing our climate as THE BIGGEST way to protect our water resources, or were they sitting on their hands also?
@simonahac@dylanjmcconnell Pretty good BUT they are TOTALLY ignorring THE bigget inevitable transition to Battery Electric Vehicles with bi-directional gid connection to homes. This is game changing for the amount of DISTRIBUTED storage it puts on the grid and ekliminates any need for gas - WTFU AEMO.
@SophieScamps Agree, and I know you did your bit too Sophie, thanks for making us all proud of our MP and I had a delightful coffee with John Shipton before he met with you.
@AlboMP Well done Albo, you've done a second thing (beyond rejigging tax cuts) that is actually beneficial. What about showing "Duty of Care" for our youth and sacking Plibersek for her approvals of new coal and gas even beyond 2050 - shows your disdain for Paris and our youth!
