The UK has carried out another successful test of its new DragonFire laser weapon.

After the test, they announced that the UK's Royal Navy will equip its Type 45
destroyers.

The decision was announced after DragonFire demonstrated its capability to intercept a high-speed, low-flying target during live trials.

DragonFire is a high-energy directed-energy weapon which can shoot down a drone with a single high-energy burst which costs around $15, far less than traditional missile interceptors.

DragonFire will be installed on the first ships by 2027.
