it doesn’t really go anywhere it’s just yosuke bullying kanji for the hell of it w/o any substance. and without the added weight of yosuke originally being a romance option it really just reads as this guy being a massive jerk as opposed to an insecure teenager

i don’t actually think this is a Bad Thing tbh. i think yosuke’s homophobia is actually a good character flaw for him to have but the issue is that it’s just kind of treated as a gag and no one ever really calls him out on it (except chie like. one time)

y'all they're not taking ALL of yosuke's homophobia away. there were some lines (esp in the original japanese) that absolutely went too far and im glad they're maybe changing that. the core of his character and insecurities will still be there.
