The Michigan Avenue lift bridge over the Buffalo River in Buffalo, New York, adjacent to the General Mills factory. The smell of warm cereal on the air made this one of the most pleasant shoots I can ever remember having.

The repurposed factory in Detroit, Michigan that holds the Lincoln Street Art Park. Once a crumbling factory, it now contains a sculpture garden and outdoor art gallery, and includes murals, street art, site-specific installations made from salvaged materials, and a stage.

I lie on my back in the short grass. One hand rests on my stomach. With the other, I pull a stem apart, letting the tiny pieces fall by my hip. A beetle climbs over my shoe but I let it. I close my eyes. The sun warms my sleeves and I think that I don't have to go anywhere soon.
The moon hung above him, full and bright. The satchel held the urn. His father held the ladder, hands exact on the rungs, not looking up. The soft putter of water against the hull, as if the sky were breathing. Halfway, the moon tilted toward him. He did not look down■
