Most apps put Japanese into your head. The best way to learn is to actually use it.
So we built two new spots to do exactly that:

Memorize these 10 with example sentences, not isolated definitions. "ni = destination" doesn't stick. "Tokyo ni ikimasu" sticks.
Read them out loud. Translate basic English sentences. The pattern becomes automatic in a few months.

Japanese particles confuse every beginner. They look tiny. They are everywhere. They are doing more work than you think.
A guide to the 10 you actually need:

The hardest distinction for beginners: wa vs ga.
Simple rule that gets you most of the way: wa marks what the sentence is about. ga marks who is doing the verb.
象は鼻が長い。
"As for elephants, the nose is long."
Particles tell you the role each word plays in a sentence. Subject. Object. Topic. Destination. Reason.
In English, word order does this. In Japanese, particles do.
Just passed JLPT N5? Here's the truth about N4.
It's not harder. It's just bigger.
90 days. 15 vocab/day. 4 kanji/day. 10 min of listening. That's the plan.
The 4 mistakes that kill N4 prep:
• Skipping kanji until the last month
• Studying only on weekends
• Skipping mock tests (the format is its own skill)
• Ignoring listening (this is where most people lose points)
The math:
• ~1,500 vocab (you know ~800 from N5)
• ~300 kanji (you know ~100)
• ~150 grammar points
The gap is real. But it's a 90-day gap, not a 6-month one.
90 days to JLPT N5. Real plan, not hype:
D1-14: kana
D15-30: 200 vocab
D31-50: grammar + 50 kanji
D51-70: 500+ words
D71-90: practice tests
30 min/day. Spaced repetition. That's it.
