THE WHY IS THE STORY.
Yusuf Pathan sought a municipal plot in Vadodara in 2012. The proposal was rejected by the Gujarat government in 2014. In 2024, the BJP-controlled VMC served him an encroachment notice. The land was valued at ₹20.5 crore.

Now, two months after he quit TMC, Gujarat proposes to GIFT him 500 sq m and sell him another 478 sq m at a 45% discount.

What changed? Why should a disputed public plot be gifted to a politician on such sweet terms?

The signatories, including individuals affiliated with MIT, Oxford, Harvard, Stanford and Cambridge, have raised concerns over protests and what they describe as attempts to undermine India's constitutional institutions

@RShivshankar point here is the misuse of national flag. It’s very convenient to say unfurling of flag. Do they even know what are the protocol for the use of national flag. Ask a fauzi or a sportsman how they unfurl the flag. #shameOnCJP #wakeUpIndia #stayneutral

[Rahul Shivshankar @RShivshankar]

For the unforgivable "crime" of jumping a gate. Unfurling tri-color. For breaking terms of an undertaking. For trying to stay relevant here's what they got slapped with:

[Priyanka Chaturvedi🇮🇳 @priyankac19]

A news channel did an extensive & ‘exclusive’ interview with an MP sacked by JNU for sexual harassment. With the accused using the platform to make a case for himself to the viewers of the channel. Shouldn’t the channel have first prioritised to tell the story of the several women he harassed by giving the JNU committee members that primetime slot? This is media for you.. preach to the world about justice for women but give the mic to the accused to prove his ‘innocence’

In 2015, I refused to swallow humiliation, as a proud Assamese. God was kind to me.

The Chief Minister of Karnataka is not just an individual. He is a constitutional office, and the face of a State with a glorious history, a rich culture and deep pride.

Will he bow to this public humiliation?
