@mrslizac Sorry to hear that, hope he's ok. Crawford, who handle Airbnb's AirCover liability claims, have been sitting on my son's medical bills since March.

[Nik Long @nik_long_]

@sheknowshoney Same experience in Bali. The listing wasn't what was promised, and Airbnb only fixed anything after I went public. Team hotel here too now.

[Nik Long @nik_long_]

@vishalofficial_ Written confirmation from the fire department and building management, and Airbnb still sided with the host. That says it all. Same in our Bali case: evidence went in, nothing came back. Airbnb only acted once I went public. Keep posting.

[Nik Long @nik_long_]

@WineGirl2 Being threatened over an honest review should get a host removed, not shielded. Ours in Bali offered a partial refund if we left no negative review. Airbnb did nothing until I went public. Reviews on that platform mean nothing if guests are pressured into silence.

[Nik Long @nik_long_]

@sugarbets_ @runnningforever @Polymarket Same pattern here. Airbnb took the host's side until I went public and kept pushing on every channel. Don't accept the first 'no'. Escalate in writing and keep copies of everything.

[Nik Long @nik_long_]

@ayush_jain28 @Airbnb @AirbnbHelp Same here @Airbnb. Our toddler was hurt at a listing in March. AirCover's adjuster @CrawfordandCo denied liability, made a 'full and final' offer, then withdrew it as an 'error'. Seven months on, still no resolution. AirCover protects Airbnb, not guests. #AirCover

[Nik Long @nik_long_]

@MMG78999 @Airbnb @AirbnbHelp Good on you. Six months in with Crawford, who handle Airbnb's AirCover liability claims. They made a full and final offer, then withdrew it as an 'error'. Hope the letter gets you somewhere faster.

[Nik Long @nik_long_]

@Soul882207 @AirbnbHelp @Airbnb @airbnb_mx So sorry, that's scary with a little one. We were in a similar spot with our toddler, and that 'please DM us' reply was the start of months of runaround. Screenshot everything and keep it public.

[Nik Long @nik_long_]

@ReinaPandora90 @Airbnb @AirbnbHelp Same experience with Crawford. Our toddler was hurt at an Airbnb, we sent them medical records, and they still denied liability. Official evidence doesn't seem to matter to them. Keep pushing and keep it public.

[Nik Long @nik_long_]

@order44_ @Airbnb @AirbnbHelp Don't delete it. We've been chasing Airbnb since March over our toddler's injury, the medical costs and having to find somewhere else to stay, and we still don't have a resolution. Keeping it public is the only thing that's moved them.

[Nik Long @nik_long_]

@ChaosWalk3r @Airbnb Been there. Our host made threats too and Airbnb did nothing until we went public and kept pushing through every channel we could find. Only then did we get a refund. Don't let it drop.

[Nik Long @nik_long_]

@SamBartonNOLA @Airbnb Similar here. Our child was hurt at a listing and we sent Airbnb medical records, but the insurer still denied liability. Evidence doesn't seem to count for much once it reaches their claims process.

[Nik Long @nik_long_]

@elvnz11 Same playbook. Our host offered a partial refund for no bad review, then threatened to report our account. Both breach Airbnb's own review policy. Airbnb had the full chat and the host faced no visible consequences.

[Nik Long @nik_long_]

@Brendanvanson @Airbnb @AirbnbHelp @AirbnbPolicy Same pattern here. Our host offered a refund if we didn't leave a bad review, then threatened to report our account. We sent Airbnb the full chat, and they took no visible action.

[Nik Long @nik_long_]

@kirillzubovsky @Airbnb Same experience. Our host offered a refund if we didn't leave a bad review, admitted in writing it wasn't 'fully compliant with Airbnb', then threatened to report our account. We sent Airbnb the whole chat. All we got back was one line and no outcome.

[Nik Long @nik_long_]

@AR_Elsharawy Correction: it was a A$5k 'no fault' full and final offer. Withdrawn nine days later because it 'should not have been made'.

[Nik Long @nik_long_]

@AR_Elsharawy Same playbook here. Medical records were sent to the host's insurer, liability was denied, and the goodwill offer was withdrawn a week later. Keep pushing.

[Nik Long @nik_long_]

Same in Bali. Our toddler was injured at a villa listed as 'perfect for families'. The host offered a refund for no bad review, and the 'not suitable for children' note was only added after the incident.

[@levelsio @levelsio]

Airbnb just responded to "reviewgate"

The replies here are literally hundreds of people who got their reviews removed directly contradicting what Airbnb says here

The "policy" they have seems to be to remove a guest's review and rating whenever a host asks for it

I don't get why they don't just fix this? Everyone would love to see Airbnb have honest reviews and ratings you can trust

Short term you might get more bookings if everything is a 4.5 or 4.99 but long term people discover it means nothing and they can't trust your platform and they leave elsewhere

I think they're in some internal gridlock by MBAs who want to see revenue go up, not realizing that they're destroying a company

I hope they fix it!

[Nik Long @nik_long_]

@jakecpayne @AirbnbHelp Our listing only added 'not suitable for children' after our toddler was hurt. Future guests deserve the warning before they book, not after someone gets injured.
