@TheDavidBergman@PinakiTweetsBD You seem to be quite cautious about criticizing him. Personally, I’ve always found Pinaki Bhattacharya to be an impulsive figure with a penchant for spreading chaos. His ideas are often inconsistent and lack coherence.
UCSB's Global Studies Department is having its colloquium series on Global Uprising. I’ll be there on Feb 12 to talk about the recent uprisings in Bangladesh, which led to the fall of an authoritarian regime. Zoom option available - check it out if you're interested!
Bhopal artists gather outside the abandoned Union Carbide factory wall to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the world's worst industrial disaster and ongoing corporate masacre. Join us in Bhopal or do something in your city to commemorate. #Bhopal40@dhruvalization@ICJBhopal

Here is a first look at our next volume's cover, "Handbook on Social Justice in the Global South," co-edited with Dr. Nikhil Deb (@CalPoly) & Dr. Manjusha Nair (@GeorgeMasonU), forthcoming in Q4 of 2024 with @ElgarPublishing. Stay tuned for the volume to drop!

At the end of the chapter, I dropped the concept "climate authoritarianism," which I thought I would explore further in my future work. However, given the recent collapse of authoritarianism following a mass uprising in Bangladesh, it seems unnecessary!
I contributed the lead chapter (chapter one), "The Path to Neoliberalism," to this volume on social transformation in Bangladesh. I explore the political economic journey that led to the rise of neoliberalism in Bangladesh.
