Last evening, I had to travel from Alandur to Shenoynagar, and checked Ola for a cab. Lowest fare was Rs 500. Even an Ola Auto was charging 300. A friendly auto driver nearby suggested Metro Rail. Paid a fare of Rs 40 and was home in less than 30 minutes!

Many parts of Chennai city does not have Metro Water supply. We see water tankers servicing these areas. When there is so much surplus in our supply points like Chembarambakkam and Red Hills, instead of letting it out into Adyar and Cooum, why not give piped supply?
