In the Advent season you’ll hear cliches about how “Jesus came to die” & sing about the manger & the cross. But what about the 30+ years in between? If your gospel is only about Jesus’ birth/death and not his life, you’re not holding to the gospel of Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John.
The best way to stop fear when it tries to creep in & steal our focus away from faith? First, acknowledge it. Then overpower fear with prayer & God's Truth.
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust and am not afraid.” Psalm 56:3-4
God absolutely loves to take ordinary people and do extraordinary things in them, through them and with them.
He’s not waiting on you to impress Him, sweet friend. He simply wants you to say “yes” to Him.
So thankful Jesus doesn’t run from our messes. He simply climbs right in to be with us through them.
You, Messiah, are the best match for my mess. I'm thankful that You willingly forgive me, heal me and restore me.
