@USAByzantine@SeanTrende The permanent majority delusion will never die. Republicans in 2004, Democrats in 2008, Republicans in 2024. Probably the Democrats next.
Two narrowly averted, Iran-linked mass-casualty terrorist events in the space of a week that is not yet over.
The civilized world got lucky. Twice. But luck runs out. And if you’re taking this many shots on goal, you’re gonna make one in eventually.
@HollywoodInToto@realDailyWire That last Daily Wire movie was so cartoonish even the Critical Drinker trashed it. And liberal critics are trashing Digger for the same reason. Propaganda does not make good entertainment.
If, on the same day that we are hearing that Nathan Cofnas may be facing jail time for speaking candidly about the scientific reality of group IQ differences, you are still asking yourself why it's so important to talk about this subject, let me once again remind you that it is only because our institutions forbid us to speak of it that we have had people looking at a room full of white and Asian people from a cognitively-demanding industry, rage at the observed racial imbalance, and then seek to impose "equitable" representation of other groups.
Until we acknowledge reality, we are forever going to be stuck in the stupid and unproductive and ultimately racist enterprise calling itself "antiracism".
“Overall, the probability that a plane full of Israelis will contain a trained assault team, two additional pilots, and, statistically, at least one cardiac surgeon, psychologist, lawyer, and diamond dealer is substantially higher than 50%.”
Photos are circulating reportedly of a passenger who, along with other passengers, managed to subdue one of the pilots on board Flydubai flight FZ1073.
An Israeli official said there was suspicion that one pilot may have tried to crash the aircraft before the other pilot, with help from Israeli passengers, managed to subdue him.
Flight-tracking data from Flightradar24 showed the aircraft rapidly descending from about 34,000 feet to 14,000 feet, at one point displaying an instantaneous descent rate of about 30,976 feet per minute.
Flydubai confirmed that Flight FZ1073 from Dubai International Airport to Ben Gurion Airport experienced an “inflight incident” and landed safely in Tabuk. “All passengers are safe and being looked after,” the airline said, adding that it was cooperating with the relevant authorities and would provide further updates as information was verified. https://t.co/sCM9UHRcxT
Understand the magnitude of what those Israeli passengers may have just prevented.
If the emerging reports are correct, an Omani pilot attempted to deliberately crash a passenger jet carrying roughly 180 people from Dubai to Tel Aviv, sending the aircraft into a terrifying plunge before Israelis on board overpowered and subdued him.
Had that plane gone down, regardless of where it crashed, this would not simply have been another aviation disaster.
It would have been a 9/11-scale terrorist attack involving an Emirati aircraft, Israeli civilians, an Omani pilot, Saudi airspace, and a region already engulfed in conflict.
Think about the military response that would have followed. Think about the countries that would have been dragged in. Think about the retaliatory chain reaction that would have been set in motion.
The consequences are genuinely impossible to calculate, but they would have been cataclysmic.
The Israelis who bravely took control of that situation did not merely save the lives of the people sitting beside them.
They may have prevented an event that would have rewritten the history of the Middle East, reverberated across the world, and cost an unimaginable number of lives.
There are moments when ordinary people, in the span of a few terrifying minutes, stand between the world as it is and a world permanently changed by catastrophe.
This may have been one of them.
Israeli passengers sing “Am Yisrael Chai” (“The People of Israel Live”) as they land in Saudi Arabia after their flight was diverted following security incident in the air, flying on Fly Dubai en route to Tel Aviv.
FlyDubai Flight FZ1073 intended for Tel Aviv, made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia this morning after the co-pilot tried to hijack the plane and crash it by stabbing the pilot. Israeli passengers aboard the flight noticed blood from the cockpit and intervened, breaking into the cockpit and subduing the co-pilot. A crew aboard the flight as off duty pilots managed to take over the flight and secure a safe landing in a true miracle.
