being able to spend at least 1-2 hours a day without your phone, doing things like reading, painting, dancing, taking long baths, listening to classical music, sunbathing, going on walks listening to birdsong only, praying, meditating is a sign of a healthy nervous system. the more hours you can go without your phone, the better. give your brain and your body time to relax, unclench. romanticize it as if you’re living in the 90s.

sometimes, the best sign that your life is changing is the sudden discomfort you feel in situations you used to tolerate. the irritation, the restlessness, the heaviness in your chest. that’s not burnout, that’s not moodiness, it’s your soul outgrowing what no longer fits you. pay attention to that, it’s trying to pull you somewhere better.
