Nimeisha weuh. 😅😅 I called Kenya Power not knowing there was a nationwide power outage. The customer care agent was like, "Madam, ata huku hatuna stima. Pole sana, we can't help you." 😂 Jameni, nilicheka tu because WTF... even the main headquarters had no power? That was crazy, tbh.
They say books won’t change the world. Tell that to every colonizer who burned them. To every enslaved person who was punished for reading. Literacy is resistance. Literacy is liberation. The library is a battlefield.
Whomever decided to make the Microsoft Teams status indicator change from green to yellow after two minutes of inactivity. I hope you shit pineapples for the rest of your life.
When I see all the complaints about construction in kilimani, lavington etc, I just get excited because one day the price of one bedrooms will be Within my budget and I can finally live there😭
I just want to experience a season of life where I'm not always recovering from something. It feels like there's always an ugly truth I'm having to confront, a belief I'm having to unlearn, more work to be done. It's exhausting and lonely. And yeah, I get that life isn't fair and that you have to just keep going. But i keep being resilient when what I'd really like is relief.
I will never understand ppl who raise a grievance at the exact moment you raise a grievance. I don’t believe in counter complaints, they should be separate issues entirely. I’m willing to discuss what I have done, but we’re going to finish the conversation I raised first.
There's a new guy at work and he's been here maybe two weeks and we're in a meeting and my boss is talking about quarterly goals or whatever and she goes "we really need to circle back to customer retention" and this guy raises his hand and goes "I have a question" and my boss is like yes and he goes "why do you always say circle back?" and the whole room goes quiet and my boss is like what and he goes "you say it like every meeting is there a reason we're going in circles why don't we just go forward" and someone coughs and he's still going "like I've been keeping track you've said it eighteen times in two weeks" and my boss just stares at him and goes "have you never worked in an office before" and he goes "I have but nobody said circle back this much it feels aggressive" and I swear my boss aged five years and she goes "it's just a phrase" and he goes "okay but like why circles" and she just moved on with the meeting. He got let go during his probation period today and I heard him ask HR if it was because of the circle thing.
It's okay if people get annoyed with you. It's okay if something you say makes someone uncomfortable. You don't have to spend your life trying to manage everyone else's emotions. It's exhausting, and it gets in the way of real connection.
I don’t want to "download the app" to pay for parking. I don’t want to "create an account" to see a menu. I don’t want to "provide feedback" on a 30-second interaction. I just want to exist in the physical world without a digital leash.
Money saving tip: stay home.
Downside: you will realize how many things in your home need to be cleaned, reorganized or decluttered and you will have endless work to do.
someone once told me “emotional intelligence is the discipline of sitting with a feeling long enough to understand it before you hand it to someone else” and that honestly changed how i move.
Husband is relaxing in the house, wife
is washing a bale of clothes outside under the sun. After this, she'll go and cook. They do this every Saturday and they both go to work from Monday to Friday. You see this kind of marriage? I reject it for all my female friends.
