Not me Googling 'BarkBox Turkey Burger Toy' at 1am because our new rescue just destroyed her favorite toy and now thinks the world is ending. ๐ @barkbox, any chance youโve got more Gobblers left for this sweet Turkey? ๐ฆ๐ #BarkBox#ToyEmergency
๐ Reflecting on National Police Week in Washington, D.C. ๐ฏ๏ธ
The Fort Worth Police Department joined law enforcement agencies from around the nation to honor the service and sacrifice of those who have protected and served. This week was filled with pride, respect, and remembrance!
Thank you to everyone who supported our officers and the fallen families during this meaningful week. Together, we stand strong.

Allow us to contribute to flooding your feed with more #Eclipse imagery. We have to admit that it was an incredible experience to know that just about everyone was doing the same thing, together, for once.
The last time a total solar eclipse could be seen in Fort Worth was 146 years ago โ in 1878 โ only four years after our small town was incorporated when the population was less 1,000.

Various vantage points of @cityoffortworth during Totality. Itโs not often you see headlights on at 1:40 in the afternoon (unless itโs storming, which might happen later, so keep your eyes to the skies for that as well). Thank you for those that chose to stay off the road, made a plan to watch the #TotalEclipse safely, and for helping keep #FortWorthSafe.

We are ready for the 2024 total #SolarEclipse. With the buzz building about the once-in-a-lifetime event and the fact that Fort Worth is one of the four largest cities in Texas in the eclipseโs path (looking at you Dallas, San Antonio & Austin), our team is working diligently to guarantee community safety. The eclipse is on Monday, April 8, from approximately 1:40 p.m. to 1:44 p.m. Read full news release here: https://t.co/bEawBH0K1F
FWPD is encouraging people to park in a safe spot for viewing and to keep these safety tips in mind when it happens:
- Please refrain from stopping in the middle of the roadway or pulling over to the side of the road to view the eclipse. And PLEASE do not exit your vehicle.
- Ensure your vehicle has a full tank of gas, as there will be an influx of out-of-town visitors and traffic on the roadways.
- Our priority is to ensure first responders can swiftly reach emergencies and navigate roadways safely. https://t.co/o8fWA1LBzd has up-to-date traffic conditions.
NASA notes that the sun will be very bright during the eclipse. If you are watching an entire eclipse, you could be in direct sunlight for hours. Remember to wear sunscreen, a hat, and protective clothing to prevent skin damage.
Plan ahead if you want to view this event during the dark hours. The City of Fort Worth is hosting a number of events to help residents and visitors to remember this twilight experience: https://t.co/1IfUiVe5IP
