The WHO already published N95 equivalents — including FFP2 — and PPE recommendations.

I would urge you and California healthcare to consider purchasing equivalents in this crisis so that our healthcare workers are not being put at further risk. end 5/

@GavinNewsom I just learned that many in California has gone full mode on acquiring NIOSH-certified N95 masks. I could imagine why…but I have some concerns.

I’ve been sourcing N95 far and wide for the past 4 wks…asking for NIOSH. I learned that these masks are like unicorns 1/

BUT many healthcare are already working using bandanas and re-used N95s, which violates CDC and WHO guidelines of just 30 days ago.

Asking a healthcare to use only N95, and if that’s not available, to just re-use their mask, or use bandana goes against recommended practices. 4/
