#SupremeCourtPH Associate Justice Raul B. Villanueva and Court of Appeals Associate Justice Jose Lorenzo R. Dela Rosa held a ceremonial signing of the deed of donation to the Court of a parcel of land in Poblacion, Pila, Laguna on July 2, 2025 at the Supreme Court in Manila.

The 1,550-square-meter property, donated by Justice Dela Rosa, will be used for the construction of the Pila, Laguna Hall of Justice.

Justice Villanueva, then the Court Administrator, served as the signatory in behalf of the Court during a signing held earlier in March.

Assistant Court Administrator Lilian C. Baribal-Co, officer-in-charge of the Office of the Court Administrator, was also present during the ceremonial signing.

Justice Dela Rosa is the grandson of former Supreme Court Associate Justice Lorenzo R. Relova.

SC: Bukod sa Lemon Law, Pwedeng Maghabla Sa Ilalim ng Ibang Batas ang mga Nakabili ng Depektibong Bagong Sasakyan

Hindi lamang Lemon Law ang pwedeng maging remedyo sa ilalim ng batas ng mga nakabili ng depektibong bagong sasakyan.

Ito ang naging Desisyon ng Korte Suprema sa kaso ng isang konsyumer na humiling sa Toyota Balintawak, Inc. na palitan ang kanyang bagong biling sasakyan matapos madiskubre na may depekto ito. Ngunit tinanggihan sya ng Toyota dahil ayon sa Republic Act No. 10642 o ang Philippine Lemon Law (Lemon Law), maaaring ayusin muna ng Toyota nang hanggang apat na beses ang sasakyan bago ito palitan.

Sa Desisyon na isinulat ni Associate Justice Antonio Kho, Jr., sinabi ng Korte Suprema na hindi limitado sa Lemon Law ang legal remedies ng mga mamimili ng bagong sasakyan.

Maaari ring gamitin ng mga konsyumer ang Consumer Act, na nagbibigay sa supplier ng 30 araw para maisaayos ang depektibong produkto.

Ang mga mamimili ng depektibong bagong sasakyan ay may karapatang ipatupad ang kanilang mga karapatan sa ilalim ng anumang umiiral na batas.
