Opinion des faux experts : l'hiver a été "frais/froid".
Faits mesurés : Début 2024 est le + chaud depuis le début des mesures (minima 1930) avec un excédent thermique presque permanant depuis le 22 janvier. C'est dire à quel point on a oublié la réalité de l'hiver en France. La chaleur prévue ces prochains jours va encore creuser l'écart.

Cette sensation de "froid" est en réalité dû au manque d'ensoleillement et à l'excès de précipitation. Le changement climatique accentue d'ailleurs les périodes de pluie, tout comme les périodes de sécheresse.

Pour la pluie :
- Le changement climatique réchauffe l'air. Chaque degré gagné, c'est +7% d'eau supplémentaire dans l'air, soit +2-4% de précipitation (notamment visible durant les épisodes de fortes pluies).
- Le changement climatique accentue l'apport d'humidité par les rivières atmosphériques (qui ont inondé le Nord et le Centre-Ouest cet hiver).

Pour les sécheresses :
- Le changement climatique pourrait être à l'origine de la modification de position de centres d'actions (comme les anticyclones en méditerranée en 2022) augmentant la fréquence et la durée des périodes sans pluie.
- Le changement climatique augmente la température, ce qui, par ricochet, augmente l'évaporation et la transpiration des écosystèmes. Ainsi, même dans le cas de précipitation annuelle stable (cas potentiel du nord de la France, à consolider), les sécheresses progressent.
- Le changement climatique est à l'origine d'une baisse des précipitations annuelles dans le sud (indice de confiance plus fort en méditerranée).
- En augmentant l'intensité de précipitations (notamment orageuse), le changement climatique diminue l'efficacité des pluies à percoler dans le sol et augmente le ruissellement.
- Le changement climatique modifie les cycles des végétaux. Ils se réveillent plus tôt au printemps et entrent en dormance plus tard en automne : cela réduit de quelques jours la période de recharge des nappes phréatiques.
