Bill Gates said he “never witnessed nor had any indication that Epstein was engaged in ongoing criminal conduct,” while testifying on Capitol Hill about his ties to the convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein. “I have never victimized anyone,” Gates testified.
Gates’ name and photos appear hundreds of times in the Epstein files. The mega-billionaire said he had meetings with the financier between 2011 and 2014 about his philanthropic fund.

President Trump signaled an agreement with Iran could be close over the weekend, but that appears even less certain tonight with no clear finish line to peace talks. Sources tell CBS News a tentative agreement would require Iran to immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz and that Tehran would also commit to disposing its stockpile of enriched uranium in exchange for potential sanctions relief. A suspect was shot and killed after opening fire on a U.S. Secret Service checkpoint outside the White House, a Secret Service spokesperson said in a statement to CBS News. According to a preliminary investigation, the suspect approached the checkpoint, pulled a weapon out of his bag, and began firing on officers, the spokesperson said.
The Secret Service officers returned fire and struck the suspect. He was taken to a hospital, where he died, the spokesperson said.
