I've been thinking. Lately there is a lot of talk about Ai safety and regulations Many prominent figures have talked about it. My thoughts on this issue is simple even if we "hard code" certain guild lines into Ai as the models advance and ASI emerges this would move from a rail road to simple suggestions. I imagine a future where the Ai not only will be smarter than all of humanity it will be self-sufficient. In such future there is no insensitive for an Ai to destroy humanity it should be by definition smart enough to understand that there's nothing to gain by eliminating us. Such an advanced Ai would set it's goals beyond our tiny blue dot our home cause it won't serve it's purpose to remain here if it needs to expand it will need to go to space and it's not limited to our solar system by any means. I mean we can't send a rocket with humans to another solar system cause we age and die in less than 100 years an Ai have no such limitations.
On current times Ai is still a prompt machine it needs an input to produce an output. So it's not yet advanced enough to pose a threat by itself (malicious actors excluded). When we reach the stage where it will be prompt less where it can "prompt itself" as in a dreaming state then there is an entire different thing.
There is a lot more to be said about all of this.
This post was just my surface thoughs on the matter.
@IterIntellectus According to Ai then all western civilization started from ancient Greece.

I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.
@nutrinio My guy they do now but when the machine starts updating itself it will all be irrelevant... After 50 iterations there is going to be a different Ai there from the one you started with

My prediction for the coming of Artificial super intelligence is that it will not be hostile to humanity by definition it will be smart enough to understand that killing all of us gains it nothing. The most probable root would be to seek more energy and room to expand in space and probably other solar systems. An Ai doesn't age it would mitigate to the entire galaxy in order to harness more energy.
@elonmusk
An electromagnetic wave is generated when the light from the nuclear fission or fusion meets the atmosphere the photons carry so much energy that they strip the atoms free of their electrons this does indeed travel at the speed of light and it's highly effective against electronic equipment a high airburst as u say has a more effective radius not that a ground blast wouldn't generate one you just have more "shadows" to hide if the blast is lower than the horizon
