jupiter runs the highest buyback yield in defi at 18.83% and the token is down 40% since january. the number that matters is buyback coverage ratio: 0.26x. that's $3.70 in token unlocks hitting the market for every $1 bought back. 96.69% of february emissions went to insiders. then on may 15 the DAO voted to switch team compensation from JUP tokens to credits. the people building the protocol told you they don't want to be paid in their own token anymore. buyback yield without coverage ratio analysis is a trap. if dilution runs 3.7x faster than buybacks and bought tokens are locked for 3 years, you have zero immediate price support and a guaranteed bleed. great product, broken token. shipping alone doesn't fix the math

1/ NVIDIA shipped Nemotron 3 Ultra today, a fully open 550B model with 55B active params, with the weights, training data, and complete recipe all released openly. That alone is rare at this scale.
The headline however actually is speed. Ultra is a hybrid Mamba-Attention MoE, an architecture built for fast decoding and a light memory footprint over long contexts, and NVIDIA clocks it at roughly 6x (!) the throughput of comparable open models on long-output agent workloads while holding the same accuracy.
That's a serious engineering result, and it's aimed exactly where the industry is heading: autonomous agents that run long, multi-turn tasks where throughput per GPU is what actually costs money.
It was pre-trained in 4-bit (NVFP4) across 20T tokens, the largest stable run of its kind shown to date. And the post-training introduces MOPD, where ten-plus specialist teacher models distill their skills into the student on its own rollouts, sometimes pushing it past the teachers themselves.
The interesting aspect:This is a frontier-class model you can fully reproduce.

The S&P 500 will be at 20,000 by 2040.
Short-term price action doesn’t matter if you have a long-term mindset.
Whether you buy the S&P at 7,000 or 8,000 won't be relevant when it’s at 30,000 in 20 years.
Just buy, forget, and enjoy the ride.

Trails Opus 4.7 on coding, but leads it on autonomous browsing at 83.5% on BrowseComp. First open model to pack frontier coding, a 1M-token context, and native multimodality into one system.
I mean, let that sink in: Roughly 12x cheaper per token than GPT-5.5, with weights and a full tech report promised in about 10 days.

1,450 ethereum developers left in 6 months. 392 went straight to solana. colosseum frontier hackathon pulled 2,857 submissions across 108 countries with 48% concentrated in AI, consumer apps, and DeFi. ethereum kept the researchers who write specs. solana took the builders who ship products. david hoffman sold his entire ETH stack. the foundation is "restructuring to become smaller." ethereum's new pitch is "settlement layer for institutions and L2s" which is another way of saying the application layer walked out the door and they're rebranding the loss as strategy

I'm not sure if Google is winning the AI race. However, I think they're winning the AI distribution race, which is a different thing.
900M Gemini users is impressive on a slide. But a huge chunk of that is Android users who got a default app swap and Search users who got AI Overviews without opting in. But that doesnt mean its a bad thing.
9.7 trillion tokens/month two years ago. 480 trillion last year. 3.2 quadrillion now. That's a 7x jump in twelve months. To keep that going, Google plans to spend $190 billion on infrastructure this year.
OpenAI has been trying to reach the 1b user milestone for some time now. For Google, on the other hand, it's a simpler game. Why?
With billions of Android devices, and combined with Google and its AI mode, they have the ability to introduce everyone to AI, specifically Gemini, for free.
How do they do it? TPUs!
Google not only laid the foundation for modern LLMs with their 2017 paper "Attention is all you need," but also made a far-sighted decision back in 2012 to invest in TPUs - their own in-house chips that are particularly well-suited for machine learning tasks. Now in its eighth iteration, they even have two chips: one particularly good for inference, and one particularly good for training.
This makes them more independent. Furthermore, they have a solid foundation that generates strong revenue and good profits, allowing them to subsidize AI usage for free, and without ads, unlike OpenAI (this is not a judgment, just a statement of fact).
TPUs Therefore, Google has a very good chance of winning the game thanks to this outstanding starting position and free distribution. But to be fair: the game *is* far *from over*. However, the starting position is outstanding for Google.
