The State of Loss and Damage report must expose the true funding gap, you can’t solve what you don’t fully understand.

Just as the UNEP Adaptation Gap Report has driven awareness and action, it’s time for a dedicated Loss and Damage Gap Report. It must reveal the full scale of impacts across all developing countries, from climate disasters to slow-onset changes like drought, sea-level rise, and ocean acidification.

This includes both economic and non-economic losses, health, education, culture, and land rights.

The message must be clear: developed countries and institutions must #PayUp4LossAndDamage.

As negotiations continue, frontline communities are still waiting for support after fires, floods, droughts, and extreme weather.

Our message to negotiators is clear: #PayUp4LossAndDamage ‼️
Finance must match the scale of need, and be delivered as grants, not loans.

We call on countries to meet their obligations under Article 9.1 of the Paris Agreement and deliver loss and damage finance now. Climate justice cannot wait.

Yesterday, our Coordinator Flavian and Board Chair Vianney met with board members representing Somalia in the Eastern Africa region to explore collaboration and expand the network’s reach within the country.

The discussions focused on ensuring Somali communities are actively engaged in policy-making and climate negotiations, including a meeting with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change. Emphasis was also placed on the meaningful inclusion of youth and persons living with disabilities.
