The ribbons are now taller, the shade of blue is darker, the classic brass has become chrome, the gentle marching style has become a pendulum swing goose step and the salute style an awkward half salute.
What happened to tradition…???!

When was the Uniform (buttons, badges,etc) switched from the brass to silver?
When did the salute change from the full palm face salute to the slanted 1/2 thing being used presently?
When was the marching style change to the swinging arms goosestep?

@TheBrownBeagle @robert_lyman @James1940 Thanks a lot for coming back to me. Unfortunately I do not have his service numver. The details I have are from my mother and aunt who were on the trek out of Burma to India in 1942. I was also able to get his unit details from an entry in the Anglo Burmese library.
