নীরবে, প্রচারের আলোর বাইরে চলে গেলেন নেতাজি সুভাষচন্দ্র বসুর শেষ জীবিত সহযোগী বীর পসউই সুওরো। তাঁর গ্রামেই একটানা ৯ দিন ছিলেন নেতাজি। ১০৬ বছর বয়সে প্রয়াত হলেন নাগাল্যান্ডে নেতাজি সুভাষচন্দ্র বসুর সহযোগী পসউই সুওরো। গত ১৫ এপ্রিল বিকেলে নাগাল্যান্ডের রুজাঝো গ্রামে নিজের বাসভবনে শেষ নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করেন তিনি। নেতাজির দোভাষী হিসেবে কাজ করার পাশাপাশি তিনি নাগাল্যান্ডে আজাদ হিন্দ ফৌজের গাইড হিসাবেও কাজ করেছিলেন। প্রসঙ্গত, পসউই সুওরো নাগাল্যান্ডের একটি স্থানীয় গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতের প্রধান ছিলেন বলে সূত্রের খবর। তিনি তাঁর নিজের সমাজের একটি বড় স্তম্ভ ছিলেন। ভারতের সেই সময়ের স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রামের অন্যতম গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সৈনিকও ছিলেন তিনি। আজাদ হিন্দ ফৌজকে ভারত ভূমিতে ঢুকে সক্রিয় হতে সহযোগিতা করেছিলেন। নেতাজির সঙ্গে কাটিয়েছিলেন বেশ কয়েকদিন। পরবর্তী জীবনেও তাঁর সঙ্গী ছিল নেতাজির ছবি। ১৯৪৪ সালের এপ্রিলের পরের সময়ে তাঁর গ্রামে নেতাজি সুভাষচন্দ্র বসু একটানা নয় দিন ছিলেন। এই সময়ে স্থানীয় নাগা নেতৃত্বের সঙ্গে নেতাজির যে বৈঠক হত সেখানে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করতেন পসউই সুওরো। নেতাজির সঙ্গে স্থানীয় নেতৃত্বে যোগাযোগের অন্যতম মাধ্যম হিসেবেই তিনি কাজ করতেন। বহু ভাষায় তাঁর জ্ঞান ছিল বলে জানা যায়। এর পাশাপাশি তাঁর দেশপ্রেম, জাতীয়তাবোধ এবং স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রামে তাঁর অবদান পসউই সুওরো কে এক বিশেষ জায়গা দিয়েছে। একই সঙ্গে তিনি আধ্যাত্মিক গুরু হিসেবেও পরিচিত ছিলেন। তাঁর সম্প্রদায়ের মানুষজন তাঁকে খুবই শ্রদ্ধা করতেন। দশকের পর দশক ধরে তিনি জনসেবার কাজের সঙ্গে যুক্ত। মানুষের সঙ্গে মেলামেশা, সহানুভূতির সঙ্গে কাজ করার জন্য তিনি খুবই জনপ্রিয় ছিলেন। বিগত কয়েক বছর ধরে তাঁর কাছে জিজ্ঞাসুদের ভিড় উপচে পড়ত। ইতিহাসবিদ থেকে গবেষক প্রত্যেকেই যেতেন তাঁর কাছে। তাঁরা উদগ্রীব হয়ে শুনতেন নেতাজির সঙ্গে কাটানো সময়ের কথা।
