@johnbai I think spacex will launch AI first/AI OS devices (phone/tablet/computers) in future. Lot of the things required for these devices are already in process. Starlink mobile, grok, cursor, Tesla OS, chip manufacturing. World needs an alternative to ios android duopoly.
@niccruzpatane@Tesla Isn’t leasing a Tesla better option considering they are changing hardware required for FSD every few years? HW4/AI4 was launched in 2023, they are planning to release AI5/HW5 late 2027.
@JoeTegtmeyer@Tesla@robotaxi I think Tesla will start cybercab rides with safety monitors in 1-2 cities, remove them gradually. Then all new city launches will be without safety monitors.
I think they will send cybercab with steering and pedals across the world and start collecting data asap. "One of the things for Cybercab that should be noted is because it is a new vehicle chassis, we need to accumulate driving data that is specific to the Cybercab before we can put a lot of them on the road. Unlike, say, Model 3 and Model Y and our other vehicles where we’ve got a lot of vehicles on the road, millions of vehicles on the road, we don’t have that for Cybercabs. We actually have to accumulate miles with Cybercabs that are retrofitted with steering wheels and acceleration, braking pedals, that kind of thing, to calibrate to the Cybercab chassis.
You’ll see as we are confident about that, the number of Cybercabs in cities will increase dramatically." - Elon in Tesla Earnings call
