Lifetime educator, retired head of PS-12 school. Write about the role of moral values in our lives, schools and politics. Yes to empathy and the common good.
Concerned about where we are headed, the lack of a moral center in our politics and society? Time to commit to a new vision of moral education in our schools? I discuss the what, why, and how in my book: https://t.co/myBnBo93sC; https://t.co/Dq4wlaCquv.
Many Trump voters do not respect him as a person and think he is too extreme. Yet, they decided to take a risk on him. Sadly their decision puts all of us at risk. But please let's not spend time blaming Harris, who was a much better campaigner than most of us expected.
@RonFilipkowski Sadly, a large segment of voters don't seem to care. So making the " fascist" theme a major part of the closing argument will not be effective in this election.
NYT tweeted this to its 55 million followers and it has under 500 retweets - presumably suppressed due to the link out. “John Kelly, Donald Trump’s longest-serving chief of staff, said Trump met the definition of a fascist and would try to govern like a dictator if elected”
National Catholic Reporter on the Al Smith Dinner:
"The real outrage is that Trump, given the public nature and extent of his repulsive record, should be invited to a fundraiser for an organization, Catholic Charities, that has long worked in the trenches to save and transform lives on society's farthest margins. It is tragic that the guest of honor this year will be someone whose personal example and policy wishes are in a collision course with the principles of Catholic social teaching." https://t.co/ZhgzC92qvh
🧵I’ve read through the evidence section—the first 85 pages—of Jack Smith filing on Trump’s private criminal efforts to stay in power despite knowing that he’d lost the election.
The evidence is stunning. It’s clear why Trump did not want the public to see this testimony.
13 things jumped out to me on Trump’s attempt to defraud the American people and steal the 2020 election.
@toJamesConnor Excellent summary. Thanks. I was struck by how much courage and integrity Pence exhibited under such constant pressure. I think we can say that Vance would not do the same.
@DogginTrump Just having read 70 pages, hard to reduce to bullets. Evidence is overwhelming. Big takeaway for me was how much pressure Trumo and his goons put on Pence. Vance wouldn't have had his courage or integrity.
