@courtneyellis I was working on my laptop when I realized I was hearing a LOUD bird (possibly 2) outside w/ a call I don't hear often in this area. Thanks to the trust Merlin app, I now know how a Blue Jay sounds! 🐦 And there WERE 2! 😊😁🥰

@courtneyellis I couldn't find a definite match in the app, so I'm coming to my new birder buddy. 😊 I saw what looks like a "mini" bird in a tree in front of our house & I'm fascinated because I've neeeever seen a bird this small! Are there other resources for bird ID?

@courtneyellis I am officially hooked. I checked BirdCast and discovered that the golden-crowned kinglet is currently passing through our area. I've put binoculars on my Amazon wish list & used app to learn that the bird I saw outside my window @ the IVP office is a male red-winged blackbird.🥰

@courtneyellis Yup, Chicago. See, baby bird was my first thought. But it literally looked like a miniature-sized but fully-formed bird (if that makes sense, lol). And not a plump one. I wish it would get closer so I can get a better look! I'll add the Sibley's guide to my list!
