- @BILD contacted the 'Olise' restaurant in Copenhagen and asked how the naming and shirt campaign came about.
Manager Sigurd Kjelgaard revealed: "In our bistro, we truly make every decision based on appreciation or admiration for something – be it creating a new dish or choosing the name for our bistro. And since we all admire Michael Olise, we named our restaurant after him when we opened in autumn 2025. During a meeting, the idea spontaneously arose that the entire staff could wear Olise’s jersey during the World Cup matches. We also show his World Cup games with a projector in our bistro. We’re considering continuing this after the World Cup for his matches with FC Bayern. We will always have a table for him should he ever want to drop by. We would love to invite him and hope that he feels our support from Copenhagen"
Funny how they‘re trying to justify Wirtz‘s disasterclasses by comparing him to a guy who‘s played 1-2 full 90s all season and was out for 8 months. Wirtz hasn‘t looked any better than Musiala but Musi getting abused more is the price you have to pay when you‘re the bigger name
Bastian Schweinsteiger responds to the racism accusations by Côte d'Ivoire coach Emerse Faé: "I was talking about football, not about people. This is a football analysis. Nothing more and nothing less. I absolutely did not intend to offend anyone."
Schweinsteiger's employer @DasErste also defended him through its sports coordinator: "Bastian Schweinsteiger expressed his expectations regarding the Côte d'Ivoire team's playing style. In doing so, he summarized his experiences and observations from recent matches. This wasn't about the individuals, but rather a footballing assessment. I cannot detect any form of racism in it or in the choice of words. If Emerse Faé were to speak directly with Bastian, his suspicion would be dispelled in no time – I'm sure of that. Maybe such an opportunity will arise during the tournament"
Julian Nagelsmann and Deniz Undav in post-match interviews within a few minutes
Nagelsmann: "Ecuador wanted it more than us? That's nonsense"
