Law Centres are fighting on two fronts: to meet people's needs and to keep operating despite adverse funding and operating conditions.
As Zelensky said in 2022, the fight is here: I need ammunition, not a ride.
Law Centres are a lifeline to people struggling with #poverty. Their services are in historically high demand, and provide great return on investment. Why does government support fall short? Discover more in this week's @lawsocgazette magazine cover story: https://t.co/sN6REXOKiN
It is with a heavy heart we share the news that @HF_LawCentre solicitor, Simon Mullings, has died.
Simon embodied everything it meant to be a Law Centre lawyer. He was adored by his colleagues and his friends. His untimely death is a huge loss to us all.
"The consequences [of #LegalAid cuts] have been disastrous."

So happy to see these two brilliant women recognised with honours: Dame @KarenPBuckQP, a dedicated public servant and @APPGJustice chair; and Sue Bent OBE, until recently chief exec of @CE_LawCentre and all-round inspirational leader. So richly deserved - congratulations to both!
2/2 Just how bad is the #housing#LegalAid situation? The red areas (most of England+Wales) have no local provider. When you find one, they're oversubscribed. Neglecting access to #justice lets bad practice go on hurting people in need! @SammyGecsoyler

"This behaviour by councils is almost certainly unlawful, but devastating cuts to #LegalAid mean that homeless people cannot access the legal representation they need": @HousingActionSL tells it like it is - a #justice crisis worsening a #housing crisis, widening displacement 1/2
The weakening of people's trust in the rule of law - indeed, of the rule of law itself - does not come out of nowhere. Policymakers have become too chill about creating a system allowing 'the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must'.
What does it mean to have world-leadingโ courts if they are increasingly giving up hearing ordinary cases involving ordinary people? My law column for @TheCriticMag. https://t.co/qmKZSYdSLV
