You know what I just don't understand when it comes to politics?
"Calls for resignation".
When have you ever seen an employer say to a terrible, useless and completely destructive employee:
"I'd like you to quit please"
No, if employees are just awful at the job they get fired!
@NoContextHumans Most problems have easy solutions.
While this may not be 100% effective, it would massively increase the number of people who understand the reason for this being added to the paving.
People do have the capacity to learn, provided they are given information.
I don't normally curse in my posts but I need to say that we are being controlled by literally evil bastards.
Net Zero shouldn't just be shut down, it should be criminalised and every single person involved in forcing it upon us needs to be given decades of hard labour.
@BurnsideWasTosh@TempletonPeckJr I'm always curious as to why we label thievery "letting us down".
I tend to call "taking more than 50% of everything I earn under threat of force" a violent crime!
@YouGov Even this is ignoring the overall system as it changes.
You won't pay tax on the "winnings", but you still pay VAT and all the horrible green taxes and fuel taxes.
These taxes seem to just keep getting higher.
So buying something now is likely cheaper even ignoring inflation!
@YouGov It would take just over 19 years to make up the £1M, and that's ignoring inflation.
The £1M now would be worth approx £1.7M at that point based on target inflation of 2%, so you'll need near 40 years to make it up in practice!
Just take £1M and invest a tiny bit.
It's so simple!
Windows has now begun popping this thing up far beyond startup.
I've been running the system for 2 hours now and this just popped up!
"Support has ended" now means "we're going to make using your system as frustrating as possible",
then again, "vibe coded" means the same!
@MarkovMagnifico Note: £150k means you receive £95k after Income Tax + NI, meaning that the low end of "the top 1%" that people are always talking about wouldn't be able to purchase the average house in one year of earnings.
@MarkovMagnifico According to Institute of Fiscal Studies UK's calculator,
£50k (~$67k USD) places you in top 10%.
£60k (~$81k USD) places in top 6% of the working population.
Yes, this is a very reasonable question to ask.
For the sake of understanding.
£150k places in the top 1%!
@manu_mo_tonu@ChaponaBike123 It was safe to do so, there was no visible vehicle in the lane until after moving in.
Also, let's not focus on the single small mistake, when we can clearly see the intentional blocking of the road by the biker.
Who then expects the car to go where? In to the car behind it?
Just came across a webpage where clicking the "learn more" button requires you to allow cookies to get to that page and read the policies.
This is the page that it leads to:
@Jason87r@JamesMelville I've never once reached 60 on a country road yet.
Mostly 40, even when the roads are relatively straight, because they're not always the smoothest.
@JamesMelville THOUSANDS...
Out of damn near 70million.
So, a miniscule, ultra tiny, microscopic proportion of the population?
How many MILLIONS back a lower income tax rate?
