Three different types of Thai fighter jets have now been used against a country with no air force.
No air defense capability.
No fighter jets.
No combat aircraft.
This is not air parity or deterrence. It is the repeated use of advanced air power against a state with no ability to respond in the air.
Destroying a Hindu deity’s statue under the pretext of a border dispute is unacceptable. Whether placed by Cambodia or not, attacking faith and heritage only exposes intolerance.
Both Thailand and Cambodia are Buddhist nations, yet history records repeated persecution of Hindu temples and attempts to erase them. Violence against sacred symbols cannot be whitewashed with slogans. No religion proves its “peace” by destroying another’s faith.
Hon’ble PM @narendramodi Ji,
Hon’ble HM @AmitShah Ji, @RSSorg
This reads less like a de-escalation statement and more like justification for unchecked force. Dismissing ceasefire calls, rejecting external restraint, and presenting violence as the only option is not leadership. It is escalation language, wrapped in ultranationalism.
Even if Thailand argues ‘precision strikes,’ the humanitarian outcome is mass displacement. Cambodia reports 518,611 people displaced and enormous civilian infrastructure damage. The scale and frequency of airstrikes looks wildly disproportionate to any stated objective.
Thai forces have reportedly entered Thmor Da, Pursat Province.
According to residents and CCTV footage, Thai army units moved into Cambodian civilian homes. Thmor Da is not a recognized disputed border area between Cambodia and Thailand. If confirmed, this constitutes an incursion into Cambodian-administered territory.
Thai Military Attacks Damage Homes in Samraong City as War Enters 14th Day
(Oddar Meanchey): As of Saturday (Dec. 20), it has been 14 days since Thai military forces launched an armed aggression against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Cambodia, resulting in widespread destruction and humanitarian suffering.
The continued attacks have forced nearly half a million civilians to flee their homes to escape sustained artillery shelling. Civilian infrastructure has suffered extensive damage, including homes, pagodas, schools, administrative buildings, commercial facilities, roads, and bridges serving public needs.
On Saturday, Fresh News journalists reporting on the ground documented extensive damage to civilian homes caused by Thai artillery shelling in Konkriel Commune, Samraong City.
At the time of reporting, the sound of heavy artillery fired by Thai troops into Cambodian territory could still be heard. In Konkriel Commune, particularly around the Phoung Circle area, numerous houses were damaged, with some structures severely hit and others partially destroyed.
Fresh News journalists also observed multiple large and deep shell craters along roads and within residential areas.

Thai Army Chief told Thai PBS there is no plan to advance on Phnom Penh.
Thailand says its goal is to weaken Cambodia’s military capacity by targeting equipment and infrastructure near the front lines. Where does peace fit into this strategy?
These look like military targets to you?
BREAKING: Last night, Thai F-16 fighter jets destroyed the O’Chik Bridge, linking Chong Kal district in Oddar Meanchey province with Srei Snam district in Siem Reap province. The strike occurred near the same area hit earlier this week, forcing displaced civilians from a nearby camp to flee again to other shelters they believed were safer.
Foreigners Applaud Cambodia’s Peace Spirit, Call It a Safe Destination
PHNOM PENH – Foreigners are recommending Cambodia to international travelers, affirming the Southeast Asian country as safe, with lovely and united people.
William Meyer, a U.S. resident who has been living in Cambodia for four years, said he has never experienced any safety-related issues.
Meanwhile, a French family of four who has been in the country for nearly two weeks and plans to spend their Christmas vacation in Siem Reap province said they were surprised by how beautiful the country is and how warm and welcoming the people are.
They also took part in the December 18 March for Peace amid border tensions, expressing Cambodia’s spirit of peace and calling for respect for the ceasefire.
Organized by the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC), the three-kilometer march began at the night market and ended at the Independence Monument.
