The moment the Speaker points out that his mic is on, Rahul Gandhi quietly switches it off himself. The Speaker then turns it back on.

Rahul Gandhi doesn’t come to Parliament to raise students’ issues or participate in a serious debate. He comes to create drama, manufacture a grievance, and play the victim.

For him, optics always seem to matter more than substance.

He is Dr Nagendra from Bengaluru, Karnataka.

He reported the presence of two alleged illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in the city.

What happened then? Two criminal cases were registered against Dr Nagendra, and he was arrested.

Now, the Karnataka High Court has rebuked the Bengaluru Police over filing two criminal cases against him. During the hearing, the court reportedly remarked that the police should not indulge in "appeasement" while dealing with complaints of illegal immigration and must instead act strictly in accordance with the law.

The court also questioned why criminal cases were registered against the complainant instead of first verifying his allegations. It stayed further proceedings against Dr. Nagendra until the next hearing.

Well, if an Indian citizen who reports illegal immigrants is arrested, then who will come forward to report such cases in the future? Which citizen will be willing to stay vigilant and take that risk if they themselves could end up being arrested for reporting it?
