I am not against data centers. I am against how they are being implemented - specifically, without input from citizens whose communities are being impacted by them. Horribly, the tactics being used are the same ones used against us on every other issue.

Yet again, our elected officials are not listening to We the People's concerns. We didn't elect them to implement top-down policies. They seem to forget they were elected to represent us, not their own interests.

Yet again, rather than answering our questions, they demean us as if we are ignorant. Or they attempt to shame us, telling us we are the problem.

Yet again, Americans who care about their communities are being labeled as the bad guys. Yet again, Americans have been given an "anti" label.

But I think that's the point. Don't discuss the issue, just label your critics. I can't blame them for stooping to labeling data center critics. Look how the racist and now anti-racist labels worked to silence the American public over legitimate concerns over DEI.

Yet again, we see those pushing a public policy claiming the high ground.

With data centers, they claim they are for national and economic security. Meaning, if you are against it, you don't care about either, or you're too stupid to see the importance.

If the data centers are indeed for national security, what are they doing in the middle of populated areas?

Most installations involving national security are placed away from cities with lots of security surrounding them.

Yet again, they attempt to scare us into going along with their policy.

"We must have them for national security. If we don't build them, China will win!"

Win what exactly? Oh, and no one explains how these data centers benefit national security. Instead, they seem to use China as the boogeyman and the issue of national security to scare us, hoping to silence us into compliance. Sorry, I want facts, not scare tactics.

We, the People, just want our questions answered.

That's become more important since we discovered the data centers were not upfront about their impact on our communities.

For example, people are now learning how much power is needed to run these centers. The centers knew ahead of time what they needed but did not tell the people.
Specifically, they did not tell people that they would be installing substations, high-voltage power lines, and diesel generators as backup power.

They only presented the positive side. Now that we realize we were misled, we want the true picture before we commit to more data centers in our communities.

How does it benefit us economically? That's another question that has not been answered.

And yet again, making them just like every other issue- abortion, DEI, etc. an either-or issue. It is not.

We the People are not against anything. We want our elected officials to answer our questions and take our concerns seriously. After all, We the People elected them not to represent the data centers or their interests, but ours.

Yet again, it's deja vu all over again.

We typically think that Trump is following Reagan's playbook, but what Reagan did wasn't totally new. Bessent is doing what Marshall did during WW2. We cut off access to their assets and financial backing.

Just as Bessent has, we told countries taking Nazi gold that we would no longer bank or trade with them. We also issued a similar statement to them: "You are with us or against us." Switzerland was one of the last to finally come around.

Exactly. It is a cynical view of human life. I would also say that the commenter is conflating nothingness with knowledge and memory.

The physicist was speaking about matter, tangible things we can touch and feel. Whereas Ecclesiastes 9:5 speaks about intangible things: actions, emotions, knowledge, and memory.

Solomon in no way implies that the dead are nothing or that they vanish into nothingness. He simply states the fact that the dead have no knowledge and that they have no more reward. The fact that he says they "know nothing" implies that the dead still exist. Saying that they have no more reward also implies they still exist. Nothing tangible vanishes. It's their works, emotions, and efforts that are forgotten.

Again, we have to remember, as you said, Solomon wrote this from a human perspective, not God's.

What we do for Christ will last and be rewarded when we get to heaven.

Not so for the unsaved. There are no rewards for them after they die. What's more, their "works" will be burned up, but their soul lives on because the human soul lives forever, either in heaven or hell.

In 2020, 13-year-old Callum Manning from South Shields, England, created an Instagram account for one simple reason. He loved books and wanted somewhere to share his reviews.

At the time, the page had around 50 followers.

Then some students at his new school found it.

Instead of encouraging him, they created a group chat and mocked him for reading, calling him names like “creep” and “sad weirdo.” Callum was added to the chat and had to watch the messages appear himself.

It hurt more than he expected. He later said it was the first time in a long while that he had actually cried.

His 24-year-old sister, Ellis, decided to do something. She shared what had happened online, hoping maybe 20 or 30 of her friends would follow Callum and leave a few kind comments.

That wasn't what happened.

Within days, Callum went from around 50 followers to hundreds of thousands.

Authors including Neil Gaiman, Malorie Blackman, Matt Haig and Caroline Kepnes reached out. Publishers offered him books. Waterstones encouraged him to keep reviewing and offered him a free book when he next visited.

And Callum kept reading.

The account that classmates had mocked became the place where hundreds of thousands of people came to hear what a 13-year-old thought about the books he loved.

His sister had only wanted a few people to remind him that there was nothing embarrassing about loving books.

She found an entire community waiting to tell him the same thing.

Two things that stood out to me from what he said.

1. What he learned about the Democrat party after his aunt, Patti LaBelle threw him out for liking Trump 12 years ago.

NO ONE VIOLATES AND DISRESPECTS DEMOCRACY AND FREE SPEECH MORE THAN DEMOCRATS.

2. His explanation of why he didn’t cave and vote democrat.

“I’d rather vote Republican because I WANT to, than Democrat because I HAVE to.

Bravo for him. We should follow his example. No matter who they are, no one should tell us how to vote especially in America.

Here’s what supporting TRUMP cost me:

My aunt is Patti LaBelle, famous singer AND DEMOCRAT.

Christmas 2019, she had just informed me that I had to move out of the home I had happily shared with her for 12 years.

So when I heard her and my family talking about what a threat Trump was, I asked her “why should I be afraid of trump when you’re the one who just made me homeless?”

Her family instantly attacked me and threw me out of her house.

And just last year, she had a problem with me talking about my life with her on this platform.

My punishment for using my 1st Amendment right this way was LIFETIME BANISHMENT.

And as of today, she's still not speaking to me.

And because SHE'S not speaking to me:

NO ONE IN HER CIRCLE IS SPEAKING TO ME.

And this will apparently last the rest of my life.

WHY?

Because NO ONE VIOLATES AND DISRESPECTS DEMOCRACY AND FREE SPEECH MORE THAN DEMOCRATS.

I learned that lesson on Black Christmas 2019, and I've been learning it ever since.

And even though I've gotten out of politics, they still hate me.

But all that tells me is that I'm doing something RIGHT.

Because I’d rather vote Republican because I WANT to, than Democrat because I HAVE to.
