@remington351@ginsengaddict You are right that our treatment of First Nations is disgraceful. However, the idea that 53% of all aborigines are currently in prison or some form of detention is ludicrously wrong! The correct figure is closer to 1% than to 53%.

@Silverhood4@ginsengaddict Don't have freedom of speech. We do!!!
Get throw in a covid camp without trial. Never!!!!
Massive wildfires. Like Canada and California !!!
And hypocritical politicians. Like everywhere!!!
@remington351@ginsengaddict Our record on treatment of First Nations is not as bad as your ridiculous statistics and no worse really than US treatment of the Native Americans. But most Aussies are indeed rather worried about US influence.
@edlee1441@ginsengaddict@KeithOlbermann Murdoch is a bit of an embarrassment to most of his countrymen, but he seems to be thriving since he became an American.
@Netters40525581@ginsengaddict US might be a better place if it had a few more socialists, and it might be a better place if it had fewer fascists. But ya' know, whatever may be said about all that, Democrats and Republicans are both to the right of center.
@Netters40525581@ginsengaddict Where did you get such a silly idea? I actually feel freer, safer, and socially better off in Australia, though that's of course subjective. In any case, in answer to your question, no we didn't have "covid camps" Did you?
@stevefeather3 @ginsengaddict@KeithOlbermann Australian creatures can often be highly toxic but death rates from snakes, spiders, jelly fish etc are in fact extremely low
@PWB_Actual@ginsengaddict Australia's urbanization rate has consistently been above 80 percent, and in 2021 it reached 86.36%, one of the highest in the world, and we do deal with most of the same problems (but differently).
@ginsengaddict Right on! Ginseng, very few βdeadlyβ Aussie animals actually cause deaths, there are about two deaths per year from snake bites in Australia, while the average for bee stings was 2.2 and for jellyfish 0.25, or one death every four years. For spiders β β the average was zero.
@BruceLHart @ginsengaddict Australia has a similar climate to Cal. Our cultural diversity is astonishingly heterogenious. And with your Supreme Court at work, your "safer" gun laws are almost certain to get weakened. In any case our gun laws (enacted by the conservatives!) are tighter than yours.
@MSaintPierre77@ginsengaddict@KeithOlbermann (an American who thank God moved to Australia
forty years ago and raised my family here.) Our statistics on covid are significantly better than the US. And I'll let you know if some day we have our first school shooting.
@albademiksV2 Are you saying the young man in the photo looks like a prepubescent child? Have you thought about getting spectacles? Or possibly you need to see a psychiatrist to cure your homophobia?
