SPAN margining is the Holy Grail for TradFi, and one of the main reasons I’m going all in on @bulktrade this June.

but wait, what is SPAN?

SPAN (Standard Portfolio Analysis of Risk) was developed by the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) and remains the global standard for derivatives risk management.

instead of evaluating positions individually, SPAN analyzes portfolio-wide risk using advanced risk scenarios and margin offsets.

so how does this work in Bulk?

1) on most exchanges, opening a $10,000 short and a $10,000 long with 50x leverage would require around $400 in margin.

2) on Bulk, the same positions require 68% less — just $129.62 total (check the screenshot).

lower margin = higher capital efficiency = less idle funds.

this is the kind of infrastructure that can move crypto trading closer to traditional finance standards.
