Hello commerce graduate turned health minister misfit, you made such a big drama for a vitamin B12 injection for a senior citizen, now please take your Range Rover and your camera crew and go take care of real healthcare issues plaguing Goa. Please record all the immediate action and amends you made on these concerns also.
Your thick skinned response shows your lack of empathy towards a poorly paid and over worked healthcare force which you have only claimed was difficult to retain due to poor infrastructure and amenities in Goa's healthcare services.
And you plan to retain that healthcare work force how? By firing one of the best senior doctors looking after one of the most important services in a hospital...the emergency medicine. You don't even have the basic knowledge about vitamin B12 injections and their protocol and did not even ask the doctors there about it.
The only emergency here is that politicians need to stop renting their brains out for optics and drama and engage in publicly humiliating the healthcare professionals. Have some shame.
You are employed by the citizens. Citizens are not your employees. You take your salary from us and your Range Rover runs on fuel they were paid for by us, the citizens. Don't forget that.
Ayurvedic "gynelogist" performing a caesarean section without gloves, cap and mask.
Also random people in normal clothes allowed inside OT.
But she will escape since "Ayurveda is a part of our ancient culture"
@visrane Your behaviour isn't surprising! Being a commerce graduate, you won't understand how a hospital runs. You have brought ill repute to the premier medical institute of your state and made a complete mockery of Indian healthcare in front of the whole world.
Unfortunately, this is from India (I guess no surprises) - sorry, long read, but I need to rant.
The relative of the "doctor" (he addresses her as his aunt) took a live video inside the operation theatre where a woman in labour underwent C-section without universal precautions.
No face mask, people without scrubs and masks and gloves inside. Relatives of the woman undergoing the surgery inside the OT watching on in full civilian clothes. A guy across the "doctor" is supposedly the assistant - technical or surgical, no idea. Zero infection control. Cannot see an anaesthetist. If the woman went into shock or any emergencies happen, only these bunch of clowns in the room are available for "advanced medical support."
Now this "doctor" is actually no a doctor, but an Ayurveda practitioner. Ayurveda practitioners are given the title of "Dr." by the Government of India (even Homeopaths, Naturopaths etc are too), making it impossible for the public and patients to separate quacks from real healthcare professionals.
What you see here, is the outcome of the Indian Government's vision for integrating Ayurveda and such pseudoscientific quackery with scientific treatments. Incompetent nincompoops are let lose on the public. This is going to be a disastrous cocktail not for those who can afford medical treatment (because they land up in competent healthcare facilities) but for those people looking for cheaper alternative for treatment and for those who cannot afford realistic treatments. The Government seems to be interested in widening and deepening this healthcare gap rather than finding rational and logical ways to mend it.
Ayurveda has surgery too (but I would not recommend anyone go there). Shalya Tantra is a specialized branch of Ayurveda dedicated to general surgical procedures while Shalakya Tantra focuses on diseases and conditions occurring in the head and neck region, specifically above the collarbone. Postgraduate students (MS degree) in Ayurveda can perform a variety of surgical procedures including general surgery, ENT, ophthalmology, and dental procedures - such as skin grafting, small tumour excision, circumcision, traumatic wound management and dressings, tooth extractions, minor eye procedures etc.
But C-section is not part of what Ayurveda practitioners can do, because such surgical syllabus is not part of their training in this context: https://t.co/vDAuCeY0LP
When the Government itself promotes mediocrity as excellence because they are incompetent in taking the country up through scientific progression, it is the public that ultimately suffer. The same public that elected this Government and such Governments before this one.
I am not saying the current Government is responsible for all of this (they are, for promoting this without shame or concern though) but decades of rule by various Governments is. I have never seen a serious Government that promoted science and spirit of critical thinking and inquiry to the masses in India during my time, which is why we have a huge healthcare gap even now - some of the best treatments are available to people in India, while some people get the worst, like from a third-world country too - like from this Ayurvedic quack promoting herself as an OBGyn.
And then there is that part in the video where the Ayurveda quack's relative mentions that "Every C-section my aunty does, ends up in delivery of a baby boy." This again is a kind of advertisement for this quack's clinic and services where large numbers of educated as well as uneducated people in India have closet [cultural] preference to a male child over a female child. Pregnant women (or their relatives) will now search and find this "doctor" who will deliver a baby boy for them.
If you have read the Ayurvedic texts, you'll notice that there are large sections and chapters in it where measures and practices are discussed to help a woman "bear a boy child" and "not a girl child." Pumsavana is a Hindu ritual described in Ayurveda, traditionally performed during the third month of pregnancy, believed to influence the gender of the child, specifically aimed at ensuring the birth of a male child. The term Pumsavana refers to a process of making something masculine or generation of a masculine. It is a procedure by which the chances of male child birth are increased: https://t.co/4F7E89Ndov
This is systematically taught to students in Ayurveda syllabus too. Tell me how this country will ever evolve or become a super-power? F*cking wishful thinking.
Now somebody tag whoever is in charge of healthcare where this lady quack is working and get them to shut her services so that people can avail better and realistic services.

Left: Influential Indian actress Ms. Samantha Ruth who is unfortunately a health and science illiterate advising millions of her followers to inhale hydrogen-peroxide to prevent and treat respiratory viral infections.
Right: Scientific society, The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, warning people to not nebulize and breathe in hydrogen peroxide because it is dangerous for health.

In a rational and scientifically progressive society, this woman will be charged with endangering public health and fined or put behind bars. She needs help or a better advisor in her team.
Will India's Health Ministry or any health regulatory body do something about these social media health influenzas damaging public health or will they remain spineless and let people die?
@delhivery . Had ordered a 3piece set and what i received was this crushed and stained kurti. No mention of senders details. Why do you people deliver order from such fake companies with no https://t.co/NVXnz0Ga7r or address? Surely there must be some extra income. Kindly refund.
✓Where EDUCATION can mitigate the psychosocial impact of conflict- it is SHE who is being attacked at HER Topmost level India is in a state of internal war - with inflation in uneducated employment . And why would not SHE be , when lead by some greedy power hungry hounds! #NTA
My take on this annual, family run, Fish Prasadam treatment to "cure" asthma:
"Strange as it may seem, no amount of learning can cure stupidity, and formal education positively fortifies it."
The quacks who give out this "free" treatment masked in "religion" & "piety" has other means of getting payment which no one seems to care about. Scratch the surface of anything remotely related to pseudoscience, marketed as healthcare in the form of religious acts, you'll always find a money trail.
This "particular" medicine given "free of cost" by a "particular" family, for the last 178 years is still kept as a secret herbal medicine formula supposedly given to the family ancestor in 1845 by a saint after he took an oath that it would be administered free of cost.
I mean why keep it a secret?
When Edward Jenner discovered the Small Pox vaccine, did he keep it as a family secret and let them mint money? No, realistic healthcare is for all, and transparent, and available to all, everywhere.
I mean we still have people with asthma, both children and adults, and we still depend on modern medical interventions to treat it, even though this Fish Nonsense has been around for 178 years.
I mean it takes just kindergarten level education to understand that this is just BS marketed as divinity. The "family" would be raking in money through collateral.
There was this cancer healer in Shivamoga, Karnataka who gave free herbal treatment to advanced cancer patients. His gang would fleece the multitude of people visiting him by the droves by overcharging for transportation, lodging and food. That's how they made money. Even though the treatment was "free."
This nonsense can only thrive in India, where people have very poor scientific temperament, a strong attraction towards religiousity and lack critical thinking because their education helped reinforce dogmatism and traditional misinformation instead of making them smarter.
We can't save everyone from this stupidity. But we can, from asthma, but it does not feature this stupid fish therapy.
