When you rethink about today, remember @neha_aisa marched WITH the people, deceived the police that was detaining anyone found BREATHING near Jantar Mantar for over an hour, and almost reached the venue before she was CHOKED while being detained FORCEFULLY.
That is how you lead. By example. Not diktats. Not shadow fights. Not statements.
Like i always say. WOMEN WILL LEAD THE REVOLUTION.
Maybe CJP and Mr. Wangchuk started this hunger strike under the delusion that the govt has a heart for students killed/traumatised by NEET paper leak.
Maybe they were under no illusions but at least hoped for a tsunami of support from the students they are protesting for.
Or maybe they knew it all and still went ahead because that’s what revolutions sometimes demand - a delusion that people care for their own issues, a wishful thinking that our kings have a soul or at least some basic decency.
And that’s why most revolutions fail because they are not meant to succeed but to remind and document - that power has an infinite appetite for violence, esp when the opponent is non-violent.
My take : Rarely do I personalise stories. But sometimes one must.
Because I come from privilege. And let me use a cliché here - agency. I am fortunate to have both.
I come from Haryana. I am married to someone who hails from western Uttar Pradesh. To say that either state ranks poorly on gender justice indices would be the polite version of the truth.
My husband and I are also fortunate to still have familial roots in our ancestral villages. And every time I visit whether my village or his -the blessing is almost always the same: “Dudho nahao, puto phalo.”
.. back in in the cities ... it translates loosely to: may you be the mother of a hundred sons - . In the village it's always said Literally
In the city rarely said aloud but very precisely understood: may you become the mother of sons, because in this country even one son can dramatically elevate a families social standing.
A son becomes status. Security. Social capital.
He is the lifelong investment expected to yield lifelong returns. The one relationship through which hierarchy can be asserted - just by the virtue of gender - a son -
And so the logic begins early.
If there are only two glasses of milk, the son gets one not the daughter, sometimes not even the mother. If there is money for only one child’s education, it goes to the son, even if the daughter is brighter, more ambitious, more capable.
Investment, after all, is expected to bring returns.
And from that logic flows an entire ecosystem: dowry, control, dependence, harassment, silence.
What we often describe as “tradition” is, in reality, an economic and social structure built around the premium value assigned to sons. Even when the son is getting married - the privilege of that association is understood to be so acute that the girls family should naturally bear all expenses of the wedding .
The tragedy is not only that women are oppressed by it. The tragedy is also that many women are compelled to uphold it, because in deeply unequal systems survival itself becomes transactional.
so we can continue to pontificate on #Twisha's death, but we all know the one brutal truth that killed her - we did - we killed twisha : the obsessive premium we attach to a male child. The lifelong social privilege of a “son” has created collateral damage for every woman alive in India . This desire cuts across class, caste, and religion alike.
Twisha is dead. But her story survives in the collective, generational silence of women who endured but survived. women who, in some form, exist in each of our homes... and we all know them - very often we are them !
We looked at Adani's projects outside India and found most of them were announced within months of Modi visiting the country or meeting its head of state.

@jjfitzgeraldMD Oh this is well known by every oncologist.
When treating a man with locally advanced head and neck cancer a WIFE is the most successful predictor of survival, not stage, pathological characteristics, not anything else, a wife adds 20% to cure rate
1/5. And so the BJP lost the Faizabad (Ayodhya) Lok Sabha seat. Has Lord Ram fought his last electoral battle for them? Or did he resent being politicized for cheap partisan gain? Or maybe he figured out who the ten-headed monster really was?

🚨BREAKING: INTENSE STRIKES ON RAFAH.
Hebrw media reports suggest that zionist forces launched a failed mission to retrieve captives in western Rafah, leading to the frenzied bombing that has targeted the area for the last two hours.
US-backed zionist warplanes have been intensely striking the vicinity of Al-Awda mosque in western Rafah, coinciding with heavy artillery shelling and helicopter fire. Fierce armed combat has continued between resistance forces and the zionist enemy in the area (Media 4).
A large number of Palestinians have been displaced as their homes and neighborhoods are under bombardment, leaving several trapped and wounded.
Something historic is happening in Paris.
It is now past midnight, and the pro-Palestine protests are continuing in the French capital, slamming Israel’s massacres of refugees in Rafah.
France’s citizens have had enough of Israel’s depravity.

After 5-hour delay, management showcasing the pinnacle of multi-engine govt progress. A staffer embracing their inner teacher with PA system MIA. Amidst the chaos of people scrambling for any available seat, a clear announcement is clearly optional at this non silent airport.
Oh, the joys of experiencing @AAIVNSAIRPORT ‘s world-class amenities during flight delays! Who needs seating spaces when one can participate in a charging socket Olympics? @IndiGo6E ‘s clear communication is as elusive as functional Wi-Fi in the second busiest airport in UP.
Much appreciation to @mahuamoitra for giving me this opportunity to argue the #BilkisCase which has made history for all right minded Indians. The judges have said the Gujarat Government usurped the power, and that the rule of law has been violated. All convicts are directed to return back to prison.
