Was @Oxfam India & its network of NGOs acting as agents of foreign powers? We have an exclusive copy of the CBI's FIR against the NGO which begs that question. Foreign money flowing into India from dubious sources to these NGOs. They then route them to smaller (1)
I am glad that the Honourable Speaker strongly condemned the Emergency, highlighted the excesses committed during that time and also mentioned the manner in which democracy was strangled. It was also a wonderful gesture to stand in silence in honour of all those who suffered during those days.
The Emergency was imposed 50 years ago but it is important for today's youth to know about it because it remains a fitting example of what happens when the Constitution is trampled over, public opinion is stifled and institutions are destroyed. The happenings during the Emergency exemplified what a dictatorship looks like.
If PM Modi’s first two terms were to save Indians – toilet, gas, tap, vaccine, Balakot – the third must be one that saves India. And India cannot be saved if Hindus aren’t. Decades of discrimination against them must end. Modi must choose Dharma over Coalition dharma.
My views:
Western papers are absolutely quiet on what’s happening in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. This isn’t because “as democracies they expect more from us”. Rather being staffed/funded/read by the Muslim Brotherhood, they will only focus on things their funders tell them to.
There was a complete breakdown in UK's airport network as automated gate systems failed. This is a lesson. Integrated AI based systems will work well but will occasionally fail spectacularly. Now imagine them all linked. When your automated check-in fails, your power grid fails, payments systems jam up etc. As explained in my recent paper on AI regulation, we should not allow an "internet of everything". We have to create fire-breaks and expect some systems to fail from time time - and for there to be a manual backup. Surprisingly, few regulators or IT giants are thinking about this globally. In my recent discussions with them, they seem to be focused on localised problems in particular AI systems (say, AI coughing up politically tilted answers or images). There is little discussion on systemwide breakdown.

Dear @AshwiniVaishnaw@Rajeev_GoI I would formally like to request a comprehensive audit of @YouTubeIndia@nealmohan & their business practices. There are executives employed there that I personally know have affiliations to certain political parties. Some of what I’ve seen crosses the threshold of foreign election interference.
Realising (almost 5 years late) that @YouTube is a news dissemination platform, recently @YouTubeIndia reached out to me as one of the @YTCreatorsIndia from news community.
Having very bad experiences with last partner manager who would just speak whatever she wanted to say, wasting 20-30 mins of each of our times, she won’t have any answers to real problems we face, I was very suspicious about new guys sitting in Gurgaon.
However, when they said that they have formed a ‘news division’ and wanted to listen to our grievances, I thought to give it a try. Two persons, Sarthak & Harleen tried to lay down what they had in mind.
I had some issues which I shared:
1. As a news-based channel we should be allowed to show violence, riots etc to discuss them.
2. Monetisation must not be switched to ‘limited’ on whims of a random programme or individual without any proper reasons
3. A news channel’s video shelf life is a day or two, so ‘reviews’ mustn’t take more than a few hours. 7 days means you have destroyed any chances of earning from a video which your system flagged as inappropriate, but your human reviewer found it to be appropriate 6 days later. In those 6 days all the revenue through ads would be effectively zero.
4. Only those who know the language should review the videos of that language and not someone who barely knows the language, have no idea of context and hence screws it up for non-English channels because a certain keyword is in their ‘profanity’ list. I was told by these guys that even saying bsdk or sala once in an hour ling video was ‘extreme profanity’.
They never solved any of the above issues, just kept giving excuses. One thing they suggested was so bad that it killed my revenue: To improve my ‘rating’, I should keep all my videos as ‘limited’ monetisation, so that when YT finds that video is violating policies, it will make my rating as true, hence improving my score.
The bad part is, if you make it yellow, YT will take 7 days to make it green. As news channel, you will lose revenue on every single video. I junked that stupid idea.
Anyway, I also asked them if there was human bias based on ideology as there was a pattern: as elections approached more videos from past would be demonetised. As many as 57 videos from last 4-5 months on my channel were randomly demonetised.
Worst part is, there are no emails to let you know. You just stumble upon to see yellow $ signs. When I asked, they replied: As we get tremendous amount of videos so our systems are a bit busy so old videos mights get demonetised very late as well.
Then, I showed them 5-6 instances of stupidity where normal videos, without any policy violations were deliberately put under ‘limited’ monetisation, they would find some random reason to claim ‘their system’ as the best. In 8 days, I sent them 7-8 mails, and at last I was so disappointed, I just gave up.
In election time, I am doing almost 6 videos every week and YouTube makes it a point to keep them on ‘limited’ within an hour of the video going live. In last two months at least 25 of my videos were put on limited monetisation, when I appealed it got reversed after 5-6-7 days.
This simply meant whatever I could have earned through ads, has turned to almost zero. I know that system is rigged, but my problem is why the facade of caring for creators?
YouTube is just trying hard to censor the content of one particular type by discouraging us to even discuss @narendramodi or @myogiadityanath rally video clips.
My video on Congress manifesto is still demonetised without any particular reason. Their policies are so vague that any video can be in violation.
I am just putting it out here so that people know what kind of battles are there as far as narrative goes. It’s very very tough to keep your head high and survive.
YouTube should choose better people to engage with us. The least they should do is hire journalists/newspersons who know how news works.
