Fascinating.
Another point that supports this theory is possibly estrogen? ER-positive breast cancer is common, and research increasingly shows that AZ is more common in women due to the sharp drop of estrogen post-menopause.
The cancer-Alzheimer's paradox, an inverse correlation, with an unexplained mechanism
"The risk of Alzheimer’s disease in patients with cancer is significantly reduced, and the risk of cancer in patients with Alzheimer’s disease is halved."

I missed this when it came out, but this was an absolutely fascinating read and such a great use case for AI discovery in medicine. @EricTopol

Hey @Apollo24x7, when people order medicines from your app, kindly do not delay! And if there is a delay, please tell them upfront. Delivery changed from 5th to 6th, and now it is the 7th - no sign of it.
You cannot mess around with something as important as medication!
TIL that if you have the @HDFC_Bank app installed (installed, not logged in) on your phone, you cannot login to HDFC netbanking🤡
And the panic-inducing error message only says you're logged in elsewhere.
Indian banks have IT systems designed in the 7th circle of hell.
Seems like an opportune time to remind everyone that vaccines, especially childhood vaccines, are ~5 - 7% of revenue for Big Pharma. And cost pennies compared to the treatment for said childhood diseases.
Walked into @HLTHEVENT 's women's health startup pitch and just blown away. Really put into perspective how much of a white space women's health is. A tracker that's an earring and gives me info about my cycle in addition to HR/ step count? Take all my money!
We can talk till the cows come home about TAMs, moats and GTM strategies, but the biggest indicator of a startup's continued success is the founder's emotional intelligence/ regulation and self-awareness.
There. I said it.
I wish the creators of the foundation TV series would just stop saying that this is based on the works of Isaac Asimov. At this point, they're dancing on his grave.
The season finale "twist" was completely contrived and unnecessary.
I'm all for AI but can we ban customer support chatbots on food delivery apps? 1 hour delay late at night and I have no way of cancelling my order. Store is rejecting calls and app chatbot keeps looping me back to contacting store @dominos_india
20 yrs ago, 1 week into jr. college, I walked home to Goregaon from Vile Parle in sometimes waist-deep water as Mumbai came to a standstill.
Looking back, I have no idea how I made it with the number of things that could have gone wrong. Yay to youth and its blind belief!
When I was a kid, we had to write "news articles" as a part of our English lessons. It was hammered into us that journalists only present facts and to never let opinions color our writing.
It's clear now, more than ever, that most Indian journalists never got this lesson.
Years after my grandpa passed away, we found a small pouch filled with neatly folded 500 and 1000 bills among his things (useless after 2016). Still moves me to tears that he couldn't break the habit even after decades of living in relative comfort.
Fantastic thread here 👇🏼
The Ghosts We Inherit: India's 'New Money' Story
My mother reuses tea leaves until the water runs clear. My friend's father keeps a wooden box in his closet, with carefully folded bills arranged by denomination. Another's maintains a small diary tracking every household expense down to the last rupee. These aren't quirks – they're battle scars from a generation that survived on less.
We are their children. We carry their financial trauma in our wallets, even as we tap them against sleek payment terminals at craft coffee shops.
@sowmyarao_ Depending on when you're moving - I might be selling some stuff towards the end of the month. Can't seem to DM you - but lemme know? Can give more deets
@jain_harshit@livspace Their quality of work is terrible. The previous owner of our house used livspace. In just 2 years, shelves are falling apart. The installation is terrible - they've destroyed the skirting to fit in the cupboards, the gas inlet is a literal unfinished hole. I can keep going on...
This is exactly what I saw at BLR airport a couple of weeks ago. The line at security for Digiyatra was much longer than the non-Digiyatra line.
Must admit I enjoyed the schedenfreude 😈
Digi Yatri app is one of weirdest apps ever built.
Its sole purpose seems to be to solicit data in the name of convenience.
Think about it rationally?
[1] People download Digi Yatri because it helps you shorten your wait time
[2] You will do it. Tell your friends. They will do it too.
[3] Then you will have a long queue in Digi Yatri
Such unnecessary segregation & waste of money I have not seen anywhere in the world.
To add more context why this is dangerous:-
I see folks abusing him for exposing a security flaw.
Now before you say such security flaws can't be there in Digi Yatri: a few months Digi Yatra Foundation had dropped app maker after ‘data-breach’.
Her pain radiates through every single word in that devastating letter. Work is just one part of your life and it's high time employers stop attempting to make it your whole life.
And really - no one from EY could even attend her funeral?!?!
Heartbreaking news from EY Pune - a young CA succumbed to the work pressure and nobody from EY even attended her funeral - this is so appalling and nasty!!!
A new type of microbe discovered in the human gut! Called obelisks, they can create their own proteins that are entirely new to science. The team named their proteins “oblins.” Scientists scratching their heads about it
