Love my island home 🇦🇺
Love my birth country 🇮🇳
Love that I was born in a country with a long & ancient culture🧡🤍💚 and get to live in a country with the oldest continuous living culture on earth 🖤☀️❤️
Happy Sankranti 🥜🍯/ Uttarayan 🪁 to all who celebrate
In my home state, we share a sweet dessert containing sesame seeds & jaggery with this wish:
तिल गुळ खा, गोड गोड बोला
Meaning
May your words be as sweet as this jaggery
This, to me, seems like a good life choice #Sankranti
Birthing services should only be provided by appropriately trained, qualified and registered health professionals

If women never have the opportunity for these discussions, they will not be able to provide informed consent. True informed consent can’t & shouldn’t happen when the woman is in pain in labour. It should happen in pregnancy.
I can’t see how or why this is controversial!
‘The wrangle between overmedicalisation and the pressure to have a natural birth is a false dichotomy. Replacing one ideology with another does a disservice to women.’

If we had half the outrage over starving children, killing innocent people and denying basic healthcare as we do over eating with one’s fingers, the world might be a better place for everyone.
Congratulations @AliWrightObGyn on your election as President of @RCObsGyn
Looking forward to collaborating on advocacy for women’s health around the world
