Learning doesnโt always have to happen behind a screen, in a classroom, or through endless slides.
Sometimes, the best way to understand Bitcoin is to become the network itself.
Last Saturday at the DadaHub, our Dadas stepped into the Bitcoin protocol through a Live Action Role Play (LARP) session led by our founder, @marcelorraine, in collaboration with @base58school and @niftynei.
And what started as a learning exercise quickly became something much bigger.
There were moments of intense concentration as teams raced to verify transactions, protect the network, and outsmart each other. There were moments of fierce competition too. At one point, the room felt less like a workshop and more like a championship final. Nobody wanted to lose.
(Although rumours suggest the real motivation may have been avoiding a certain karaoke performance after the session. ๐ญ)
But thatโs the magic of experiences like these.
People arrived to learn Bitcoin. They left understanding it.
Not because they memorised definitions, but because they experienced the protocol in action.
The laughter was constant. The debates were loud. The strategy sessions were serious. And somewhere between acting as nodes, miners, and wallets, abstract concepts suddenly became real.
And because Bitcoin is ultimately about people, not just technology, we ended the day sharing something equally important: our stories.
From our tribal showcase, where Dadas introduced each other to the beauty and uniqueness of their cultures, to a karaoke session that proved enthusiasm is far more important than vocal talent, the day reminded us that community is built in moments like these.
Moments where strangers become friends.
Where learning becomes memorable.
Where women interested in Bitcoin realise they are part of something bigger than themselves.
This is what Bitcoin Dada has always been about.
Not just education.
Belonging.
Hereโs a short recap of how the day went down. ๐
And if you missed this one... let's just say youโll want to be at the next LARP session.
Photos coming soon, so stick around.

A nation that fails to protect it's children and women is a failing nation doesn't matter how they're doing economically. Stop killing women!! Protect our children!! End femicide and pedicide
There is something deeply unsettling about living in a society where women and children constantly have to think about safety before freedom.
Before going out.
Before getting into a taxi.
Before letting children play outside.
Before simply existing freely.
Over the past few weeks, conversations around femicide and the disappearance of children in Kenya have once again reminded us that these fears are not imagined.
In Kenya, over 220 women and girls were reportedly killed in 2026 alone, with at least 8 murders occurring every week, and in the last 15 months, over 10,581 children have been reported missing.
Behind every number is a human life. A family. A future interrupted.
At Bitcoin Dada, we talk about building better systems, opportunities, and futures for women, but none of that can thrive where safety is not guaranteed.
Women deserve to learn safely.
To travel safely.
To build safely.
To return home safely.
And children deserve the freedom to simply be children.
Today, we stand in solidarity with everyone demanding justice, accountability, and safer communities across Kenya.
Because safety should never be a privilege.

Saturday was more than a graduation.
It was a reflection of what happens when women are given access, community, education, and room to grow. They thrive, and in turn societies thrive!
And somehow, this still feels like only the beginning. โจ

Saturday, the 16th, will be a day to remember. ๐งก
We celebrated our fourth year anniversary, graduated Cohort 9 & 10 of Bitcoin Dada and Cohort 3 of @DadaDevs โ and without even fully realizing it at the time, we convened 102 women in one room for what is probably the first physical Bitcoin event in Africa attended entirely by women.
And that alone is history!!

A look at how week one of the DadaHub residency program went down!!
On the first day, @MouxDesign asked the room: who are you building for? Not a hypothetical user. A real one.
The challenge: design a Bitcoin app for the Chama โ a rotating savings system used by women across Africa. But first, talk to them.
Participants interviewed real Chama users, mapped their journeys, and documented their fears. Pain points. Trust issues. Workarounds they've built over years.
The output wasn't a prototype. It was understanding.
Because the best UX in the world fails if you're solving the wrong problem.
Research first. Always.

There's a difference between understanding tools and using them to ship something that works in the real world.
The Dada Hub Residency is built around that shift.
Over four weeks at the Dada Hub in Nairobi, you'll take a product from idea to launch: designing it, structuring it, and shipping a working MVP.
You'll work with #Bitcoin at the protocol level, integrate Lightning for real transactions, and use AI as a core part of your build process.
By the end, youโll leave with something live and functional.

Tigoni police station, you are holding a young lady who is a rape victim! You have colluded with her perpetrator to deny her justice! Her young son is outside your police station in the cold!
What kind of inhumane behavior is that?
Worse still, you are refusing to issue her aunt, the only close relative who had given her shelter at the time of arrest with an O.B number. That level of impunity MUST end.
Her aunt has called me to try plead with you but you have an insolent male officer on duty who chose to hang up demanding that they come tomorrow. They are not leaving the station UNTIL you process and or release the victim by the book!
You want to pretend tomorrow that SHE was never at that station? We already know what you are capable of when Kenyans look the other way even for a minute!!
I am personally taking up the matter and will ensure the OCS and the complicit officers are prosecuted.
OCS Christine & your officers! We shall see where that impunity hides in the face of the law!!

A woman in Bitcoin who inspires me is @waithiraah , co-founder of @tando_me
I really admire the way she educates people about Bitcoin and communicates it so clearly and seamlessly. Sheโs helping more people understand and use bitcoin.
